Re: Where is Nicholas Winmar's future
Nicholas belongs on a wing.Watters has told him he needs to be more consistant.Hopefully he proves some people, and far more importantly, himself, he can make it.By the way Whiskers3614,he's named Nicholas because his Mum's last name is Nicholls.

Re: Where is Nicholas Winmar's future
Winmar certainly has the skills, height and athleticism to be a very handy player, but from what I have seen he appears extremely mentally fragile. Doesn't work hard enough, doesn't like physical contact and when he does cop a decent bump or tackle he tends to stay down feeling sorry for himself for a while. If that's the same approach he takes to gut running and pre season training, then no wonder he doesn't get enough of the ball and hasn't shown improvement.
He needs to be prepared to work much harder than he has before, and it sounds like Watters knows it as well. Really he isn't worthy of a senior list spot at the moment and would be more suited to being a rookie, but we're stuck with his contract for another year so they might as well have one last attempt at getting him to pull the finger out and bring his work rate up to an AFL level.

Winmar and Wazza will get one last chance at it. Theyd want to tear it up at VFL level nest year or its back to the WAFL for both.

Honestly this is where Michale will show his value ... Tony has a knack at getting players to push themselves further then they believed they could go ... Not saying Winmar will make it but Tony Michale will be the best bloke to try and get him to make it ...
