What would you say to Brown
I am fascinated with got goes on behind closed doors. Clubs and trade week is no exception. It seems like someone has convinced Brown to come to the saints (for example) so why would he choose the saints?
Just for fun sake, what would you say to a player to get them to the saints, use Brown as an example.

You will play every week at full back at a team that has been consistently in the finals, has recruited well, has excellent training facilities and you can learn off one of the great full backs in Max who is on the coaching panel.

You will never have to play in the same side as Dawson or be coached by Lyon.

Re: What would you say to Brown
Yep, pay rise and playing time. He can look at the saints list and see a spot for himself.
I recon we can front end his contract, as we must have penty left in the salary cap, so paying him decent money wont affect us going forward.
Win-win

Re: What would you say to Brown
How about you go on a big night out with Jack Steven and lose your license drink driving, do something controversial, let the Eagles delist you, we'll pick you up afterwards.

Re: What would you say to Brown
Maybe over talks we could spike Brown's coffee with cocaine and tip off the AFL?

Re: What would you say to Brown
Come down-town Mitch Brown!
Just tell him he wont have to pay $5 for a frickin latte, wont get killed by a shark doing his recovery and he can play in the AFL not the WAFL.
He will be on the first flight!

Re: What would you say to Brown
I could see the burning desire in every interview I've seen with Mitch Brown that he just wants to play regular AFL football. You can tell he is frustrated & just wants to play. That's a massive part of deciding to come to us where he knows he would be the main man & not in the shadows of an All Australian.

Is Brown as good as Dawson? Would like opinions on this.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Yes because we may get him. No if we miss out. Look how Caddy has just gone downhill. Anyway i say Zac is in front at the moment.
Re: What would you say to Brown
My opinion, Brown is a far better defender, especially one on one & his body strength is very impressive. He will take the gorillas & do well on these types. He won't have pace but when playing against resting ruckman & bigger blokes - it's probably not going to be a major issue. Much more disciplined defender than Dawson IMO.

Re: What would you say to Brown
Different. Brown likes a a wrestle. Dawson very good at getting the late spoils in.SaintPav wrote:Is Brown as good as Dawson? Would like opinions on this.
Dawson is actually a lovely kick most of the time and can go fwd from time to time.
Brown is still only 23 remember. So has plenty of footy/improvement left in him. (Probably why the Eagles want to keep him around for when Glass goes).
The thing is Brown knows if Glass stays fit it could mean another year at East Freo in 2013. Eagles can promise him more games in 2014 - sure. But he doesnt want to waste another year in the WAFL. Tough situation all round.

Awkward if we draft Mason Shaw.
