Farren Ray - gone?
"It is believed the Demons would be prepared to part with a second round (No. 26) or third round (No. 45) pick, or ruckman Stefan Martin or midfielder Cale Morton, as part of a swap for Ray."

Probably pure speculation - I do not see Melbourne gives up pick 26 for a fringe St Kilda player. Would love to get Stef Martin - he offers alot of flexibility in the modern game. Game play key back and can hold his own in the ruck (not in a part time sense either).

Take the pick instead
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: Farren Ray - gone?
would take martin in a second and would actually be a fair trade all round. martin is good enough to be our second ruck but his 2012 was not as good at 2011 so would not be a huge lose (especially with clarke there)
good trade

Re: Farren Ray - gone?
try for Gysberts IMO.
It depends what they have lined up with picks though.. Do we want Martin + Hickey? Can Martin play down back?
Can 27 be used for Ben Jacobs??? I guess it is not enough?

Re: Farren Ray - gone?
Jay Clark wasnt it? Avg article isnt it... if he had no idea, then just don't put anything in there re what Saints would want in return, not or this, or that, or this, or that... I do like the reference to him being a #4 pick, he played more like type of player than when he was a the Dogs.
One can only hope for similar to what we paid for him or thereabouts.

Suggests Cale Morton... have not seen this kid, but just seems to reek of Aaron Fiora #2.
Skinny outside mid with good skills who was good in underage but seems not up to it.

If so id say no just because of that.
Id say Martin for Ray straight swap would suit both sides. They get an experianced and quick mid and we get a second ruck. Works for me

Re: Farren Ray - gone?
He was one of their shining lights last year & for a fringe midfielder it would be a fair deal IMO.
Re: Farren Ray - gone?
Everyone mocked his brother Mitch and he is now a premiership player...
If we landed him cheap, and he was out of the 'let's tank' culture.
Who knows

Re: Farren Ray - gone?
We won't get 26 - Melbourne are using 26 for F/S on Viney.

Re: Farren Ray - gone?
They can and they have. Only GC could have trumped them because of the draft order, so they have done a deal with GC, so Melbourne don't have to bid their first round pick for Viney, they only have to bid their second round pick. It's done.Con Gorozidis wrote: no way will they get away with that?

26 is off the table.
