Just not good enough. Bye Raph

comments like this really irk me

at least Raph got his hands on the ball and tried to do something positive unlike the forum's love child in Schneider who did nothing for 3/4s.

Really pisses me off

the player who tries to do something and fails is maligned more than someone that can't and doesn't try anything.

where's the logic in that?

Like Gilbert in the 2010 grandfinal replay. He might have missed 3 shots in the 2/4... no one else was able to have a crack at it

Now he ain't quite that, but I struggle to think of any one given so long a career for so little impact.
Some of you are being very nice about raph simply to balance the over the top criticism he has put up with over the years.
But the fact remains, to be afl standard you need to perform consistently. Raph never did.
Nick Maxwell is worse than Raphh.

No he isnt. He came 5th in their B&F. maybe it was rigged.

The Pies were just pumping up his value in case he asked for a trade or left as a FA.

Would much prefer Raph than Maxwell. If Raph just grabbed it and booted it anywhere like Maxwell does he'd never get run down..

Really that is watching footy through one eye or even no eyes. It is a really silly comment.

I can't see anything at all Maxwell offers or does better than Raph. The biggest thing is I've seen Raphh dominate a final while Maxwell is basically a bitsa a player that apparently shows leadership.

Yep and that why the 3rd side had him 5th in the B&F and that is why he is Captain and that is why he has been AA and that is why he played well in the first GF in 2010 and that is why it is important when discussing players from other sides that you actually watch them play.

Again I will repeat I see nothing that Maxwell offers that Raph doesn't. By the way the year Maxwell made AA was the season the Saints had the best defence statistically ever and we had no one AA. M

I wonder if Maxwell was drafted Top 20 if he'd be viewed the way he is. Escapes a lot of critics because of how he made it tks Collingwood. Also as for finishing fifth he was in a group over about 12 bloke that where split by about 15 votes from 5th to 12th.

What I mentioned are facts. You are mentioning stuff that doesnt have anything to do with it. He came 5th and he was AA. And he played well in the GF in 2010 and also took a friggin match saving mark. Give up. You are talking rubbish. It is OK to have an opinion but it cant be a silly opinion. I could say Mark Scott was a better FF than Plugger. That is my opinion but is crap and should be challenged.

How did he go in last years GF? Basically lost Collingwood the game. Maxwell has one thing Raph doesnt and that's durability . Raph suffers from twin things hd was a high draft pick and he is injury prone. Also please don't say Maxwell had a good GF in 2010 because he took one mark a mark a local footballer would take.

I hate Maxwell and think he's overrated but he's important to the Pies team. Raph on the other hand is unfairly derided. I know what your saying they aren't that far apart on ability but Maxwell is one of those guys like Blakey that you need to like Collingwood to get the way he plays.

No he had a good game because had a good game. He also took a vital mark. And please dont say he basically lost the GF for the pies last year because that is crap. Lets face it anyone thinking the way you do has no right to express opinions on other players from other sides because common sense proves you have no idea when comparing players. The high draft pick Raph was doesnt stop him getting game. Surely you even know that.

5th in this years B&F and AA previously. Can you give us Raphs record? You can use all his career if you like.

How did Nick Maxwell get brought into this?

Yes he is not the most talented player however sheesh he has been durable leader of a club that has been at the pointy end of the ladder for a good few years now.

Meanwhile Raph Clarke has been useless for quite a long time.

Yes he had a fantastic second half in the prelim of 2009 but sheesh...how long ago was that?

Even against the Gold Coast this season he had a few 'Raphisms' similar to his usual garbage from years gone by.

You are a dick Plugger, you could post politely and stop antagonising, he's offering an opinion not attacking someone else's. At the end of the day two people can see one event two different ways neither is more right. Common sense says if you find people's opinions so confronting you could just not read them.

And common sense suggests this has nothing to do with you. I will answer anyway I like. If you dont like it put me on you foe list. And I said anyone can have an opinion but surely it must be educated and if it isnt it should be challenged. And as if I find this persons opinion as confronting. Funny yes but confronting no.

Seen that you needed to but in who do you think has been the better player over their career?

I will put that with some of your other unique views on footy this year. Judd should get off. We lost to Geelong because 2 weeks earlier the umpires cheated against us and now this.

I don't think so and as I've offered countless times to back my opinion up with a bet against yours. If I was picking a team id take Raph over Maxwell.

Not sure how we can bet on players. Can I suggest if you get AA and at least one top 5 in the B&F you are better than another player with neither.

And I hope the rest of your team isnt picked similar to that. You may have Mark Scott at FF ahead of Plugger.
