Jay Lever
With our 'big defender' crisis why has there been more said about Lever? He is tall 198-200cm preferred position is centre half back, his bio says his skills are excellent on both sides and he is 'lightning fast' may be a little light but preseasons fix that?? Anyone a rap for him. Could get games in 2013????
Just seems perfect for our needs???
And he is from the Geelong Falcons! Anything out of that club has superstar written all over it!!!

Re: Jay Lever
I seem to put on weight after a few Maccas sessions and some Big Ms maybe just change the food at training

Re: Jay Lever
Get him on the west coast diet from the 90s with extra horse roids. He was one to watch as he was genuine slider from being played out of position, long term I think he will be a gun player and has that same springy speedy tall frame as Rhys Stanley. Just need some bulk and he should be good.

Re: Jay Lever
It would be a real change of fortune for the Saints if Lever and Staley both turned out to be AFL quality players....

Re: Jay Lever
Maybe we should have him walk up and down the Village Belle Shopping centre in Acland St St.Kilda. Walking past all those beaut cake shops would surely put weight on him. It works for me.

there aren't that many left down here these days- it looks more like chadstone by the day. It's full of Just jeans and Telstra stores these days.borderbarry wrote:Maybe we should have him walk up and down the Village Belle Shopping centre in Acland St St.Kilda. Re: Jay Lever
He wasn't getting much, if any at all, in the Sandy seniors....
played mostly for their development squad....
desperately needs some bulk.... but as with most big guys, he will take time and patience....

Still have high hopes for the boy from down my way.
Of course I am a very optimistic person, particularly when it comes to the Saints

Re: Jay Lever
Very quick and agile for 200cm and good below his knees. I see him as a Dustin Fletcher type. He'll need a full year at Sandy before being considered for AFL, but from what I've seen of him so far, there's a bit to like. Needs at least 12kg added to his frame. He'll probably get about 6 to 8kg of that this pre-season and I look forward to witnessing his progress in 2013.

Re: Jay Lever
Apparently can't ruck but was used there as he was tall during the carnival. He was talked about as a potential first rounder before that at junior level. Someone must have seen something in him. I'm only going on reputation as i haven't seen him play but the credentials are good. I have seen him at the club though and he looks like he needs to triple in bulk, I don't think his body would take too many hits at VFL level let alone the AFL, he doesn't even get the beanpole moniker more like matchstick.

Re: Jay Lever
Lever does have some big wraps on him from his junior days. With his height, athleticism and good footskills he could well develop into a quality player if he has the footy smarts and application. I'm not sure what he's like overhead, but that fact that he has been played in defence/ruck suggests that he's probably not a great mark. He should be aiming to play the entire season in the Sandy seniors next year and potentially push for a debut if we have injuries. As long as he is improving then he keeps his spot on the list.

I think Sainsational should jump on the Lever train for 2013! Crocker out Lever in.
Re: Jay Lever
Lever
Barely touched it in the VFL ressies and moves like a young Deer (under an hour old)
His best hope... A Tim Elliot career....realistically a Dam Crocker career
Surely our recruiters never saw him prior to the draft and just read his Bio....
Jackson Coleman and Fletcher Roberts ???

Re: Jay Lever
Played a couple of good VFL Senior games from what I saw in defence. His body size is the issue clearly at the moment.
Re: Jay Lever
Why did the club extend his contract? Not sure you are up to date with his potential.BigMart wrote:Lever

Only extended his contract because they never watched a game and only read his bio.
Apparently according to BigMart the recruiters dont do any work and the recruits are "retards" as he puts it.
Classy.
Lance or James??

Jackson Coleman would be the slowest player in the AFL if drafted or close to it.BigMart wrote:
