Still can't watch it : 2010
channel seven 2 are showing a grand final marathon. It's currently showing the first 2010 grand final, tried watching the third quarter and even though we come back hard I can't watch it. It makes me sick... anyone else the same?

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I'm still trying to find somewhere to go tomorrow afternoon so I don't have to hear the game-
I tried an art gallery last year and they put the game on the radio......
I can't watch others doing what I want for our boys....

The part where McQ misses tackle after tackle or the part where McQ gets another contract?

I'm in Rome at the moment & you'd think there wasn't a GF on tomorrow
That being said I did see a piece on CNN regrading Chelsea Roffey getting a gig with the sticks!

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
First time i've seen it since being there on the day .
We were so lucky to draw that game ,overall colonwood played much better than we did , but in the second half our tenacity and pressure got us back into it .
The last quarter when we got on top , our poor disposal stopped us from winning .

Seen the last Q for the first time since I went. Still almost in tears - switch to Before the Game and theres "the toe poke". Painful.

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
The worst part about watching it again is seeing every missed opportunity, shots hitting the post, balls bouncing the wrong way. The commentators mentioned just before half time that we had rushed 5 behinds for the pies. Try to stop watching when BJ puts us in front and imagine that's the end of the game.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
Just like 97 and 09, I will never be able to bring myself to watch it again.

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
People choose to forget we lost our ruckman just after quarter time. We lead the clearances 11-3 towards the end of the first. Took Kosi and out of full forward and in the end basically single handedly cost us the game,

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I have just finished watching the game.
Very unlucky to lose- BJ very unlucky not to get the medal .
I am also think Rooey played a good game & I don't why people insist Nathan Brown did a job on him?the only time Brown gets a kick is when our disposal to Rooey is bad.the game still gives me goose bumps

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I think it was game two that nick played s***. Kosi and Blake were good and Gilbert was really an awesome player back then, attacked the ball and kept driving it forward. Couldn't watch the last quarter though. Farren was trying his guts out but lacked some class, Jones is under rated for his ability to win the ball. We were unlucky not to win it but that's life.
Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
We did a lot things right. Not a lot of things wrong. Just ashamed our depth didn't have an extra quality player or two.

Eddy and Mini looked a little lost didn't they. zac was actually pretty good though, you realised how big a hole he left.

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I'd forgotten how many things went against us in that last half.
Milne actually got two bad bounces.
And Joey got a shocker bounce in the third when he was running towards goal.
And that bouncing shot of Roo's was always going to be a goal till it stood up on the last bounce for Capt Sourpuss.
Eddie's shot at goal missed by a few centimetres.
And in the last minute Kosi had two strong touches on an almost mark 20 metres out.
BJ was so good and Lenny was clearly a worthy NS winner - his efforts were heroic.
Was frustrated at our poor kicking especially Gilbert, though his endeavour was fantastic.
I wish I hadn't watched it now - I'm really depressed.
I won't make that mistake again.

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I will never watch It. I have only watched 3 1/2 quarters if the 1997 GF never rewatched 2009 and will never watch 2010. It just makes me sad:(

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
i reckon we got back to the hotel after 2010 draw and i watched a replay twice
once straight after and once early in the morn maybe the next day
ive never watched the whole game again from start to finish
one day im going to sit down and watch all the losses from 71 onwards in a marathon over a weekend
prob after we actually manage to get up and win one
amazing
we've lost 6 gf appearances in a row
(i count the drawn game and the replay as one game, we lost its that simple, the draw mans nothing)

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
Very very painful. I suppose in context the 1997 GF is the most bearable. Why? Because in the end we got trounced and were never going to win it. But in '71 we were in front at 3/4 time and only lost by 7 (from memory). Against Geelong we were in it till the dying minutes and we all know about the Collingwood draw and embarrassing loss the week after. For us baby boomers who have been through those losses it's just awful. Tonight I was reflecting on how it was a few years back. The Fri night before you are wondering and pondering ... how am I going to feel this time in 24 hours? Will we finally win and I'll party like there's no tomorrow ... or feel absolutely gut wrenching miserable. When we do make it again in a GF .... it is going to be so hard to watch and see what unfolds because in some ways we seemed to have copped a mild case of the Colly-wobbles ... or something like that. (GO Swans ... still hate Hawks for '71)

Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
I must have been at a different game. 10 points down at 3/4 time. From memory we were still 10 points down about 10 minutes in with Siera lining up for goal from just over 50 until he decided to pass to Rod Keogh who wasn't clear and wasn't expecting it. I don't know if the Crows scored from that play, but it was a real chance to get within a goal in the last quarter.Newman wrote:Very very painful. Actually in the 2010 replay, Pies were up by 27 points at half time. But schiender had a relatively straight forward shot after the half time siren and another in the first 10 seconds of the third quarter. With the come back from the week before.......
Anyway, the 2010 draw will be a lot harder to watch if BJ leaves.

I think Schneider missed easy shots either side of half time.Superstar wrote:kosifantutti wrote:I must have been at a different game. 10 points down at 3/4 time. From memory we were still 10 points down about 10 minutes in with Siera lining up for goal from just over 50 until he decided to pass to Rod Keogh who wasn't clear and wasn't expecting it. Re: Still can't watch it : 2010
bugger ever watching it again. even bj's mark and goal i wouldn't watch knowing the outcome. i did actually see the last five minutes of the draw (well we didn't lose?), only to see that dawes threw the ball to cloke for their last goal. which just made me sink deeper into the funk.
