Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
which means that the Saints have made the decision to stand firm on their offer to Goddard

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
Awesome news - Grammy and Kosi are going to have break-out years next year. I can feel it in my bones!
The Big Kos is going to tear it up! Hope we have him on a new 4 year deal on as much money as we can possibly squeeze from the TPP!

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
I really hope Kosi has a good year next year, not just for Kosi's sake but also for the development of Rhys and Ben and just the overall structure.
Hope Gram has a good year too.

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
we re-signing players based on being good blokes around and for the club now as opposed to football ability?
if kosi is good for development, employ him as a coach not a player as he has struggled onfield but exceeds off it.

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
they just activated their optional contract extensions.
They had extension clauses, i believe, that meant that, providing they were game fit, they could automatically extend their contracts...
is a good clause for long term contracts because it means that they get a longer contract but the club doesn't have to worry about paying a player that wont be playing.

I'm talking about the same logic as signing Goddard @ top dollar.

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
As they should have. Lets hope are rucks stay fit this year leaving Kosi as a permanent forward where he was playing great football. That period where he had to ruck knocked him around.

This seems to be the case yes. But i dont agree it was a great clause. Should have been 2 + 1 rather than 3 + 1. Whoever agreed to these contracts in the first place were prize idiots. If there was a "games played" trigger clause last year then we shouldnt have selected these guys. But then I guess they would have sued and said we deliberately frustrated the contract. What a friggin palava.
In reality if Kosi was such a good bloke he wouldnt have invoked his extension and would have voluntarily taken a coaches job on 1/4 pay.
Now we are stuck being these blokes miles above market value - and for what? We didnt get anywhere near market value from them the last 3 years.
And lets make no bones about it - its these 2 guys forcing Goddard out.
Pretty friggin disappointing.

Well maybe you should start by explaining your round a bout logic rather than just posting pointless crap!dragit wrote:Sorry dad.IluvHarvey wrote:Give it a restdragit wrote:Also, I hope we reward Kosi with a 3 year deal, after all he really loves the club and remember those 3 sensational games back in, when was it, 2007?

Nah, don't think I will start tailoring all of my posts so that you can understand them without being infuriated. That would be boring. Maybe just skip over my posts if they are too hard or pointless.IluvHarvey wrote:Well maybe you should start by explaining your round a bout logic rather than just posting pointless crap!

As did Raph Clarke the week before I suppose, spert wrote:Did what most of our bigger names couldn't do.dragit wrote:I hope we are paying Gram at least $850,000 for the next 3-4 years… after all he played a ripping Grand Final 3 years ago.
Look I like Kosi and Gram, but the massive contracts with clauses they were granted last time really were 'list management suicide 101'.
I'm glad we are starting to tighten up on ridiculous contracts, BJ testing this out as we speak… another bloke who's best football was 2 years ago now.

I thought Gram was one of our best the last 4-5 weeks. I'm happy with him staying on.
