If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come trade w
Just thinking worst case scenario, I know some ppl have been talking about caddy and also picking up a ruckmen for our pick 12.
But if we lose bj I would like use to get Jesse hogan with our first round compensation pick and if we get a second round pick I would like to see us get Mitch brown from wc. I know ppl on here thinking I'm crazy for wanting mitch brown. But there aren't too many KPD around who we can get. Plus he is only 24

I reckon saints will go after Mitch brown regardless of what happens with bj. Think MItch will grow into a decent player

Jesse Hogan is a monster of a kid but unfortunately I see the Demons using pick 4 to get him.

So a combintation of Jesse The Body Ventura and Hulk Hogan?Old Mate wrote:Jesse Hogan is a monster of a kid.....

Indeed....He's a big unit for a 17/18 year old.Dr Spaceman wrote:So a combintation of Jesse The Body Ventura and Hulk Hogan?Old Mate wrote:Jesse Hogan is a monster of a kid.....
Brodie Grundy would be nice. A ruckman that won't need 6 years to develop....Could play seniors next year. I very much doubt he lasts to pick 12 though

I'm with you on Mitch Brown.
A Victorian lad who is turning 24 in December. He has spent 6 years on West Coast's list so he has the body. (195cm, 94kg).
Was a first round draft pick in 2006 so there is obviously some talent there. However he is quite injury prone.
He will find it hard to break into the West Coast team with Glass, Mackenzie, Schofield all ahead of him.
Worth a look in my opinion

Sainter for life.
Re: If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come tra
I guess it will come down to what WC want for him. They may want us to use our second round pick (35) on him. The other option is to look at someone like Kyle Hartigan who we could pick up late in the draft. He's one of the best KPD going around in the state leagues and he's only 21.SaintSimmo wrote:I'm with you on Mitch Brown.

Given our WA connections, would not be at all surprised to see Mitch Brown come to us in a trade.

I like all these thoughts. I like them a lot. A 2nd round pick on MB I would be happy with or a late pick on Kyle Hartigan - I would also be happy with .Old Mate wrote:I guess it will come down to what WC want for him. Brodie Grundy is not coming to us
Is a top 5 selection, but may slip because GWS and GC prefer midfielders

Who with a pick before ours, wants a ruckman as their first pick? It is possible that Grundy may drop to us, but I would not hold my breath.

Just in reference to Jesse hogan we would have the best pick if we lose bj because they can use it straight after pick 1. Because it would be a round 1 compo pick

Negative. The compo is relative to the team that is originally compensated. And free agency compo must be used the same year so it would be pick 13.big_mac_evoy5 wrote:Just in reference to Jesse hogan we would have the best pick if we lose bj because they can use it straight after pick 1. If it was like that, we would be helping Brendon pack.big_mac_evoy5 wrote:Just in reference to Jesse hogan we would have the best pick if we lose bj because they can use it straight after pick 1. Because it would be a round 1 compo pick

Re: If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come tra
My thoughts exactly... We could get a gun key position player who plays both ends. And maybe even a second round compo pick aswelldragit wrote:If it was like that, we would be helping Brendon pack.big_mac_evoy5 wrote:Just in reference to Jesse hogan we would have the best pick if we lose bj because they can use it straight after pick 1. Re: If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come tra
Hopefully GWS and GC call Melbournes bluff and bid for Viney, meaning Dees need to use their pick 4 pn him. I have heard some rumours about Dees trading their priority pick which they activated so that Viney could be picked up in the second round if they dont need to use pick 4, surely the AFL wouldnt allow that would they?Old Mate wrote:Jesse Hogan is a monster of a kid but unfortunately I see the Demons using pick 4 to get him.

cannot believe people are so keen on mitch brown when they have barely seen him play. bloke is useless and injury prone and s*** human being. no thanks.
Re: If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come tra
The Demons have picks 3 and 4 and I'd be surprised if GC or GWS made a bid on Viney seeing as though he's nowhere near a top 2 draft pick. There'd be at least 6 players in front of him. And Melbourne would be laughing cos they'd have a chance to get Whitfield or Grundy.
Re: If we lose bj.... Was thinking what we could do come tra
That's it and it would cost us a second rounder. Better off getting someone like Kyle Hartigan IMO.defacto wrote:cannot believe people are so keen on mitch brown when they have barely seen him play. bloke is useless and injury prone and s*** human being. no thanks.

Melbourne will take Viney even if they have to use Pick 4. They made a commitment to him and if they were seen to pass up on that commitment they would never get another father-son.
Viney is probably the best in and under mid in the draft which is exactly what GC are looking for anyway so why wouldn't they bid their first pick?

He's 24yrs old, and 195cm he aint gettin any taller.
I want someone who is around 200cm, we must have an even chance of getting to the ball first.
Most future ruckmen will be around this height.
