St Kilda's high-performance manager Peter Burge has quit the club to join Richmond, replacing the recently resigned and long-serving Matt Hornsby. The move will cause a reshuffle in the Saints' fitness area for the second time in 12 months, with David Misson leaving this time last year for Melbourne.
It is understood coach Scott Watters is pushing for a new-look sports science regime heavily based on that run by Collingwood's David Buttifant, a pioneering subscriber of high-altitude training.

I think it's more to do with Richmond thowing cash around the place .. They have made it no secret that the fighting tiger fund they have been collecting for the last few years is to bring the best money can buy to tigerland ... I'm sure we will find a more than suitable replacement

might be a good opportunity to look outside the box a little, find someone with a different sports background...
also, i'd say that we will be moving towards a team of staff for this kind of stuff in the future anyway...

It may have been a better job offer etc.
But Watters was only new to the club last year, and as he's now been here twelve months and had time to assess I'd expect a few changes over the summer as he sets things up how he wants.

Cant help but agree. Watters came in and really didnt have much time (nor was the time right) to change too many things. Remember we had lost Robert Harvey because he didnt get the top job. I'm sure Scotty will now inflict a bit more of his own influence now. I really hope Goddard stays though. I cant believe how much this is upsetting me.
