Saints interested in GC ruckman ...Hickey???????
Excuse my ignorance but HOW would Barrett know any of this? Is he in the room when contracts are negotiated? Is he BJs manager? Why do the public need to even know what a footballer is paid. Do the journos put their contracts out there for everyone to comment on? My personal thoughts on BJ is If he wants to stay he will , If he doesnt he wont. He has been a very loyal servant for my club and AFAIK has never had any trouble outside the footy club. I really hope he stays
We got burnt badly with the Hamill 5 year deal and 3 years should be the tops we go for.
Up to Freo to offer up over 3 years OR substaintially more than 600k a year.
During the golden years at Geelong, none of Ablett, Chapman, Johnson, Bartel etc were on more than 600k.
Ball in bj's court and I think the Saints have played a pretty fair hand.
Lance or James??

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
Hve seen Hickey in afew Suns games. Midyear, when he got his chance, he played very well. Very good hands, one grab, did well against the filth at the G.
Not sure if he got injured later on, or was been rested. He played v Crows last weekend but had a quiet game. i would rate him above Zac Smith for future potential as he seems to have more of a footy brain.

So am I, still prefer him to stay but if he goes and we get a decent draft pick out of it then so be it.
The only thing is, would it be 13, I thought this draft was still compramised by those teams that deferred their compo picks last year, eg melb for greater western scully and cats for gablett.

Totally, totally, totally agree.
Goddard is not all that good !!!
I agree that Dal is a more important signature, but saying Goddard is not all that good?
He would comfortably be in the top 100 players in the league. IMO that is pretty fn good.

Happy to say he is approx. 50 - 80 in the league and should be paid appropriately. Would suggest that a 3 year contract is more than acceptable.
No, I think we would have heard a lot more about him if he was, signed till the end of next year, so he'll become an unrestricted free agent then I suppose…

Some people dont know much about football and here is a prime example.
This is almost as dumb a call as the "steven is a dud" statement made on this forum.
A utility the size of Goddard is vital to a football team nowdays. He will leave a gaping hole and our flexibility will be cut very short if he is not there.
To compare Dal Santo to him is just silly. Dal is a good midfielder who finds it difficult to break a tag, can only play midfield, and can be replaced in the team pretty seamlessly.

Agree, however if you can't produce it consistently then it counts for little. How many of his last 50 matches have been at a level which could be considered 'top 10 in the comp'? maybe a handful?

Id say he showed us all he produces when it counts.
