North have done it, but it does not necessarily contribute to there better form this year though, but may help slightly. Any edge is a good edge.

Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
This high altitude fad seems to take a few years to really have impact, the Kangas have been 3 times now, and the pies took 3 or 4 trips to see any real results. Hopefully we commit to repeated trips and get some value from a pretty hefty investment.

Just buy a couple of dozen step ladders for training......

Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
Hawthorn seem to be doing ok "sans altitude training" I'm of the opinion that we are in need of an ATTITUDE training camp, more than some trip to the USA. There are plenty of places for that right here in Australia!

Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
Running around in high altitude areas won't improve skills, talent, work ethic, leadership etc. I would rather send the recruiters away and make sure they are focussed on getting the right mix of players to build a team to carry us to the next premiership.

This is Watters 1st full pre season, so that in itself is different to recent years.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
I think it is good....
We would be spending up on a training camp somewhere anyway, why not bite the bullet and try out the altitude thing too....
I think it will help out our youth, more than anything else, give them a solid aerobic base fitness to help them run out games at the top level...

I really think there's no substitute for well organized, disciplined HARD WORK to build up for an AFL career.....but then I am old fashioned I know!

We have played well this year . the only thing that has let us down is our kicking !
High altitude wont improve that .

Scott has obviously seen benefits with the Collingwood list. Cant hurt, think its a good idea. Just wonder where abouts they would head.

Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
I agree Jiggster, but it wont improve their kicking. You can either kick, or you cant IMHFO. No amount of hard work, or altitude training, will turn an ordinary field kick into a polished one, once players are already in the system. I think the trade period and the draft should be our number one priority post season.thejiggingsaint wrote:I really think there's no substitute for well organized, disciplined HARD WORK to build up for an AFL career.....but then I am old fashioned I know!
Find some quality ball users.

Re: Saints planning post season- altitude camp
SPOT-ON!!! Skill errors rather than aerobic capacity led to us losing many more games than we should have during 2012. HOWEVER...... this can and will be improved by our coach and his panel, of that I am certain!!!

Well we have had our own altitude training room since Roo had his injury.St Chris wrote:This high altitude fad seems to take a few years to really have impact, the Kangas have been 3 times now, and the pies took 3 or 4 trips to see any real results.
