I just cannot believe this discussion.
It's scary, because this captaincy issue has the potential to do a lot of damage to the club, when in reality, it is all so simple.
There is only one other man in the team who can be a stand-alone captain apart from Roo, and that man is Lenny Hayes.
It just looks right:
Lenny Hayes (c)
If it's not Roo or Hayes as captain, then the only measure to take is to have co-captains, two or three of them, and leave it at that.
BJ as captain is just not quite right, nor Dal, Fish, Macca. It wouldn't work for the synergy of the team.

With all respect, unless you are a club insider ... and you may be ... what would you know about the synergy of the team?hungry for a premiership wrote:If it's not Roo or Hayes as captain ... BJ as captain is just not quite right, nor Dal, Fish, Macca. It wouldn't work for the synergy of the team.
What you see on the field is one thing. How the players respond to each other as mates and teammates is another.
Riewoldt seems to think Goddard would be a good choice, which is good enough for me.
Hayes would be a popular choice, no doubt, but is getting on a bit at 32.
Riewoldt seems ambivilent about whether he should go on and even says it may not be in the club's best interests for him to captain again next year.

Actually dual Captaincy could be the go. Maybe even bring back the rotating captaincy policy until we find a good one. Mac and Dempster would be my suggestions for dual captaincy.

If BJ wants the captaincy and he wants to stay a Saint, give him the job. I say he's ready...'The synergy of the team'- what a croc!!!hungry for a premiership wrote:
