Anyone ready to call it?
This could be the end of an era, no more finals football for us but the real question is for how long? And I don't say that lightly; I genuinely believed we had it in us to get to the 2010 GF after losing in 2009 but I have a sinking feeling that it's going to be a while before we're a chance again.

The boys have got one eye on Vegas
Kosi surely needs to be told enough is enough. Nice bloke, but seriously a disgraceful footballer these days, barely country standard

Re: Saints v Cats Match Thread
wilkes disappointing, his big chance and has had zero impact.
Jack Steven what a comedy of errors.
Lenny good on you for going in hard. You will get off cos you are you and everyone loves lenny (I hope)
Cant wait for watters to address the skills problem over the summer

Geelong have been running off us all night!
I love Stevens efort, but his kicking is killing us - Geelong re-bound all the time and our backs are immediately under pressure, especially with good delivery coming in. A very poor team effort from the saints so far - we look flat and chasing all the time.

Yep, Wilkes will probably kick 10 against GWS put a team on the park that is higher than WAFL standard and we'll get nothing out of him.mullet wrote:wilkes disappointing, his big chance and has had zero impact.

Really disappointing night for Kosi. Without Riewoldt we needed him to stand up and I don't think he's even had a touch yet.

I'm calling it we are done even though we love third quarters.
Just not good enough and too many passengers. Our so called stars are struggling when they should be lifting for the team just like the cats stars do.
The fat lady's song is making my ears bleed:(

Re: Saints v Cats Match Thread
Things need to change before I settle down.
Intensity must be low as the Cats did not like the pressure when applied a couple of years ago so I doubt they are feeling it now.
Tackles are a good indicator 20 to 27 (Cats favour)
Beaten in clearances.
Key players bar Lenny have low stats of if higher have turned it over.
To me we went with smaller bodies rather than the more robust of the young players. This is starting to hurt now. Being pushed off the ball too easily.
Nothing gives me confidence, I need to see change.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Saints v Cats Match Thread
Absolute crap game by our midfield and shocking delivery into the forward line, show some accountability fellas. Boy do we need to recruit some strength into the backline. I reckon Watters might be giving a rev to a few experienced players

Re: Saints v Cats Match Thread
Thought we'd have a crack
At the game..... the ease with which they move the ball from their defence to multiple midfield options is sad - whoever said go 1 on 1 is right.... too late though
Gwilt on Hawkins was just stupid - Watters has to be smarter than that
No system bringing ball into 50 and Jack Steven a liability
Kosi is finished - pushed off it so easily, Bartel 1 on 2 tool him and another Saint to the cleaners. Let's face it, Kosi needs it:
Lace out
No interference
A run and jump at the ball
Without this he's shyzen
Sad way to go out like this..... not even giving themselves a chance but let's be realistic...... who really thinks that effort deserves a final ??
