Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
I'm not feeling confident with the Geelong ins!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Hey why be a smart-arse, got something to say, direct it to me - no roll eyes from you this week?8856brother wrote:
Well that will teach a few that maybe getting it right, rather than getting in first, is a tad more important.
Thanks.
I copied what Grimlock had posted on the Saints BF board - minutes later he edited his post as it was incomplete (as Aussiethunda already said -> "Team wasnt fully complete when WE received them". It's good of Grimlock to post these leaks weekly, this time he changed it. I also edited the OP...
I couldn't give a shyster about being first - I had a look a couple of times at the Saints BF board and there it was. Next time You get it right before going on the assault

It was $2.90 to $1.45 earlier in the day, that is, before our dud coach named the team.StSteven wrote:$3.25 to $1.26 makes me nervous.

If our coach ends up as a big of a dud as Jack we should make the finals every year.
Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
Dud is a tad rough. But i can see how he looks like a dud, after having a great coach, Ross Lyon. Most coaches would look like a dud to him.perfectionist wrote:It was $2.90 to $1.45 earlier in the day, that is, before our dud coach named the team.StSteven wrote:$3.25 to $1.26 makes me nervous.

How do you know that? I thought we mostly win when she is one of the goal umpires.plugger66 wrote:MCG-Unit wrote:B: Simpkin, Gwilt, Geary

Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
Personally I would've liked to see Jones in however if we lose it won't be cos of the team we announced. On paper we look near of best. The Cats have also fielded a strong team. Should be a cracker and I think we can win.

Going to expand on that, or keep it vague so you can decide later why?perfectionist wrote:It was $2.90 to $1.45 earlier in the day, that is, before our dud coach named the team.StSteven wrote:$3.25 to $1.26 makes me nervous.

Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
It looks like Jones bad kicking has finally been judged as unacceptable!
I still think that Geary will not play - it's Blake for him, plus some ruck chop-outs.
Siposs or Stanley to come in.
Ray to play. Cripps for the Sub

I feel the only we can win is by having more forward options than we have run in the past. Goals need to come from everywhere so they can't double team as much. That's how we've been undone in the past.
I also expect Siposs and Stanley will come in late.

I'm not sure, Stanley isn't owning games yet and while he adds pace and can help as a ruck he is pretty fragile and would be taking the place of a small goal kicker with pace or a not quite as small goal kicker with pace. Cripps had a good game and deserves another run and Ahmed has been good over a number of weeks. We will not win this in a marking forwards shootout. We need a spread of goal kickers. I would probably err on the side of caution and have Siposs if either of them as he can play a few fill in roles and is more robust.

Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
I'd like to see Sipposs play and I think If Blake plays, he'll have a blinder to prove that he still may have it. I am just hoping for a good team performance and a win. I must say I am not confident, but then I was the same against bombers.

Im just praying the message to midfield is: IF you've got the shot..........back yourself.

Re: Round 21 Team v Geelong
They did.
Earlier in the season had as many as 10-11 goalkickers quite often, 13 one time which was some sort of record in recent years.
It's only as Roos form improved (IMO) that the players became one dimensional again and we've only averaged about 6-8 the last 2 months.
Last quarter v Pies was a step in the right direction, the kicks were either shots on goal from the 50, or deep kicks.
I guess that's why guys like Jones are finding themselves outside of the team, he was furious that night, because for 3 quarters the use of the ball inside the 50 was deplorable.
