Milne and OBrien investigation

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
The whole world is allowed to call Milney a F....ing rapist week after week for the last 10 years, but what have the AFL ever done about that.
Maybe Milney was referring to the second example listed below;
" Dictionary entry overview: What does homo mean?
• HOMO (noun)
The noun HOMO has 2 senses:
1. someone who practices homosexuality; having a sexual attraction to persons of the same sex
2. any living or extinct member of the family Hominidae characterized by superior intelligence, articulate speech, and erect carriage"
No hang on it was directed at O'Brien

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
There is a MASSIVE difference between looking at someone and saying, 'I f***** your Mum' compared to calling someone an "F****** homo". One is a direct taunt aimed to hurt and one (in the context of a footy game) is merely a bad sledge...philtee wrote:The precedent here could well be the Will Minson/Danyle Pearce "Your mother" controversy of 2 months ago.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/probe- ... 6399207354
Then, it was the Bulldogs who stood Minson down for a week for what was said on the field.
That should have been a warning for Milney.
This is all about perceptions of "drawing the line" and who gets to draw it, and where the hell is the line now anyway.
I expect press conference, admissions of repentance, handshakes, then back to business, and all players
are going to STFU.
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

So Harry H O said that he doesn't want it taken further?saintbrat wrote:Leo.J wrote:Where does it say that?Superstar wrote:I see a lot of Harry O bashing on this thread, but hasn't it been reported that he has told the AFL he doesn't want this taken any further??? Or am I wrong in this???
early media speculation had Collingwood making the refferal to AFL But it has since come out that it was the Umpire who has made the report...

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
Oh man, don't even joke about that, knowing the AFL next thing they'll be saying that Milney was calling him a monkey and give him 25 weeks. Andrew Symonds in as star witness...Witeout23 wrote:The whole world is allowed to call Milney a F....ing rapist week after week for the last 10 years, but what have the AFL ever done about that.

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
Fair chance that O'Brien has actually said something first here…
Milne instigates a dangerous tackle on Jolly, O'Brien comes in to remonstrate…
Maybe what he said was just as bad or worse than what Milne retaliated with?
Of course he wouldn't want to talk about what was said…
Adrian Anderson on the phone
"Yes that's right, I want all resources removed from investigating sides who have deliberately lost games (literally destroying the integrity of the comp)…
I want every man onto a new case regarding a claim that one player has called another player a homo…"

That being said it is hardly as if it was a MENSA meeting between Milne and O'Brien.
Hopefully the next time Harry goes back to Brazil him and his equally moronic bitch get shot up and do not return home being able to tell of their amazingly boring tale.

Heard the guys on SEN saying it on my drive home. Also, robbo said it again on AFL360 also said no one from collingwoodfc has made a complaint.

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
Not cool, but the world changed after Milney started playing, and I guess he got left behind, along with most players I'd imagine and also plenty of us by reading this thread. Not really that upset about it, but if we are serious about stamping out discrimination, then I guess that sort of thing has to go.plugger66 wrote:Nothing will come of it but i have no idea why Milney would even say it. He has said it twice now to pies players. Surely he is smart enough to come up with something better than that. That is 10 year old sledging.
If Harry didn't complain, then I've no idea why it's even an issue, but it's no surprise why it's found it's way to a Herald Sun headline story. Christ I hate that paper and the power that Collingwood has. But we just have to be smarter by making sure they can't hurt us, and that includes not giving them stories.

You're an umpire, pretty sure you're not gay, but if you were, do you think what Milne said would effect your judgement?plugger66 wrote:

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
This threads concenring - more wankers coming out here than at a nudist colony...
That aside, I think this is Margetts the big girlly punce....(make of that what you will)
I do believe Milne for wahetever reason, brings a "love"or "hate" aspect from people and Ive no doubt Margetts was biased with his pathetic umpiring on the night and been made to look a fool.
I saw the replay and thought the gutless, "sh!t my pants" from harry high pants was funny.....with no one touching him...

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
Here lies the problem ..your a fn homo there for your somehow bad or disgusting. Homosexuals have been bashed, murdered, they have suicided been persecuted, ostrisised , punished had electric shock treatment to cure their homosexual disease etc etc because they are gay . Gay people have fought long and hard for acceptance many have suffered along the way not unlike african americans .The western world have been trying to break down these discriminatory attitudes towards gays including the afl .. So I think that's why Milney is being looked at ...there is a bigger picture here.

Milne & the team have already been penalised by this. A 50m penalty was given. Close the case and move on.

Probably because their coach calls him a rapist and gets the afl to step in and make milne apologise to them. Maybe because no umpire ever stands up to players calling him rapist?
Sorry but i cant remember what players called him a rapist and what has that got to do with what I said. Do I have to remind you to question what I said and not what you imagined.
I know you like to believe that your part of the umpiring brotherhood Pluggs, but seriously they would find you objectionable with you 6 can limit and jovial attitude towards the players. They are serious people with the kind of moral fortitude usually reserved for bishops or people on a higher spiritual plane.
As David Schwartz says maybe it's just time to make a stand for the sake of the down trodden and Milney just has to be their sacrifice. Doesn't matter if gay people are excepted now and are no longer outside society. The pride march is like family entertainment these days and the only people who care if they want to marry are conservative christians and their suck hole political lap dogs.
