Out of the draft, we are favoured to pick up Tanner Smith, 194cm. from Vic. Alex Howson 195cm from W.A. and Tom Clurey, 193cm, from Vic Country are well thought of as well.

Pretty sure after watching the Sunday footy she today Troy Chaplain is definitely on the radar. Watters looked very coy when asked and struggled to hold back a smile.

Probably however I also know Salokpek is a big chance to play at he saints and that they are great mates. Cloke goes to tigers the Chaplain move to tigers probably won't happen.

Can't say I'm too excited to pick up any port players. I was really keen on locklen Keith from pies but he may have been resigned, I like rory Thompson from gold coast , both 200 full backs

We only have 4 players over 194cm. Considering maybe three should be ruckmen, we've really dropped the ball on recruiting and developing talls and "monsters".
As a comparison, Collingwood have 9 players over 194cm.

Chaplin isnt a monster. Is timid and soft in one on one contests.

We should be chasing Mitch Brown from WC. He is behind a few players on the Eagles list and may be looking for more opportunities. In my opinion he is a better player than Chaplin.

Brown from west coast would be good but they are keen to keep him and historically speaking (Kidd the exception) west coast usually keep who they want

Is Ben Reid on the radar if the Pies spend all their money on retaining Cloke? Not sure if Reid re-signed or not....

Linked to Geelong under dubious 'long lost' twin brother rule.

Good article on available state league players. Khan, Cockie and Mike Cook get a mention from the VFL and some nice talent running around in other comps as well.

Now I know Im getting off topic but I think the club should look at Callum Sinclair (Subiaco)
A mobile 201cm key forward who can pinch-hit in the ruck, Sinclair moved to Subiaco from VFL club Port Melbourne this season and made an immediate impact, averaging seven marks and three goals in his first month. The 22-year-old has had knee problems and was considered a strong draft chance in 2010. 2 years on his knee problems appear to be gone.

Now the club should investigate if he could possibly be turned into a backman. As we are all quite aware that many forwards have sucessfully made the transition into defence.

The bloke we should be looking at is Merrett from Brisbane. Good size, plays KPD, can pinch hit forward, has a nice amount of mongrel in him (ask Roo!). If we are going to spend serious coin get a good'un I reckon.

From a Collingwood supporter on Bigfooty (make of it what you will) -
Hearing Chaplin from Port has already signed with Richmond. Be a good deal for Richmond.
Obviously Richmond doesn't rate their other talls like Jayden POST and David ASTBURY if the above is true. I would take either and it maybe a chance to pick them up cheaply !

Good player, but too old, turns 28 this year, plus Brisbane wouldn't let him go.
