Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Yes, Milney got Royally sucked in by Mr UN. I want to know if Mr UN made any references to the Malthouse claim from a few years ago !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Milne said to O'Brien (re the Jolly incident): "Well what was I supposed to do, f***head?" It was picked up -- just -- by the on-field mikes. For which O'Brien got a 50-metre penalty. Go figure.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
thats also what i heard from milne, and umpire paid the 50m penalty for it.
didnt hear what henrietta obrien said.
It was like that all night.
Obrien elbowed milne in head, milne retaliated free kick to obrien. Umpires conveniently missed the elbow to milne..
The slightest SLIGHTEST inkling that milne was going to do something was cause for a free kick to collingwood I dont know why the umpires were so horribly sucked in tonight.
IT all ended with obrien and milne again. The umpire just waiting desperately for anything something to pay against milne. Milne did not arm chop obrien, milne made virtually no contact.
the umpire had the perfect view, but pinged milne again.
It was a horrible moment for afl football.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Club should make an offical complaint about this incident. It was clear that the umpire had a bias agenda against a player and a club. Swearing at a player is not a free kick.

F%ck I hate Henriette O'Brien...the most over-rated player AFL history.
Gets sworn at, gets a 50m penalty.

Harry O'Brien paints himself as the man of world peace, future Nobel Peace Prize Winner, love child of the Dalai Lama and then behaves without any sportmanship on the field.
Don't worry Harry, CFC will have you on page 1 of the HUN crying why you didn't get to meet Obama. They'll give you a "sainthood" one day.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
As long as the Maggots still think he can play on small forwards, their opposition is at a huge advantage!
Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
If I heard correctly I believe Milney used the c word a little while after he called him a f***head.
Honestly who calls someone a f***head. .
The question I have is, what was the rule that Milney broke that required the rewarding of a 50M penalty? Was it the sticks and stones rule?

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
From another thread...
"What are you gonna do f**khead?" was Milney's response to an obvious taunt of some sort from Harry O. It appeared to be a retaliation to a threat rather than an R word comment.
The fifty was weak and soft but unfortunately it was there - S.18.1.g of the Rules - (g) engages in any other conduct for which a Free Kick would
ordinarily be awarded, in accordance with 16.7 (b); where 16.7 (b) states...
(b) Where a Field Umpire has awarded a Free Kick or a Mark to a Player
and before disposing of the football a Player from the opposition
Team engages in conduct for which a Free Kick would ordinarily
be awarded, then the resultant Free Kick shall be taken where the
offence occurred, or a Fifty-Metre Penalty shall be awarded to the
Player with the original Free Kick
which unfortunately related to S.15.10.1 (d)
(d) a Free Kick to be awarded against a Player who uses
abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language
and/or gesture;
I guess.
Soft.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Thanks Iceman. Spose it was fair enough then, Milne needs to show more discipline in these circumstances. Both he and Kosi give away far to many free kicks!
Some time soon.

If this was the case there would be 50 frees per team each game. Disgusting decision.Turbo wrote:Thanks Iceman. Spose it was fair enough then, Milne needs to show more discipline in these circumstances. Both he and Kosi give away far to many free kicks!

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Milneys like the naughty boy at school , gets in trouble even if he hadn't done it . A detention for swearing a detention for retaliating has to stand in the naughty corner for back chatting the ump. The umps are probably subconciously biased towards him because he has given them all a memorable good spray over the years.

I accept the umps picked one out of a possible many but maybe they have a limit on what's acceptable.
As I mentioned earlier I thought I heard Milney say the C word. Maybe that's considered unacceptable by some. After Milne says the trigger word O'Brien points at him like a little child, could just about hear him say ummm maaa, begging with the umpire to give a 50m. Seeing it was Milne the umpire didn't need much convincing.
My point is Milney has to realise the umpires have a lower threshold on what they will allow him to get away with, therefore he has to just show some restraint.
There's a few players who know how to get under Milnes skin, he needs to raise above this sort of petty rubbish and concentrate on what needs to be done.
Some time soon.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
Do we know what 'Grasshopper' O'Brien called Milney?
The difference is, Milney doesn't squeal to the umps...or the media.

Re: Milne-O'Brien. What was said? !!
I think O'Brien is a good player who can cause all manner of problems for opponents with his running from defence. I noted the picture of Milney and O'Brien shaking hands at the end of the game and I believe thats where it should end. as for complaining to the AFL about it?.....lets not lose focus on the NEXT game by bitching about one thats done and dusted.
