So what is Westaway going to do about it?
The last five minutes of that game was perhaps the worst umpiring seen for many many seasons.
I am reminded of a horror game in Adelaide where Fitzroy was leading by a few points only for the umpires to pay four consecutive blatantly incorrect free kicks to Adelaide that eventually got them over the line.
AFL headquarters was vandalised that night with graffitti from furious Roy supporters.
I'll bet they have doubled the security tonight.
So do we just meekly accept that disgrace as "just the rub of the green"?
Or do we actually stand up for ourselves and lodge an official complaint?

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Wrstaway....was very vocal when seeking to be elected.
Hardly sighted since.
Previous Presidents would pop into the SC post game from time time. I am not sure westaway would even know where the Victory room is.

he'll say "that was yesterday, and this is today, right"
or he'll say: "both teams should have got 4 points, right"

Re: So what is Westaway going to do about it?
I remember that game between Fitzroy and Adelaide and, to be fair, it pipped tonight for the worst umpiring display ever. I'm pretty sure the AFL took action over it. I doubt they'll do anything this time.Enrico_Misso wrote:The last five minutes of that game was perhaps the worst umpiring seen for many many seasons.

So, just as I thought, we have done nothing!
Haven't stood up for ourselves.
Allowed ourselves to be shafted.
Westaway has dropped his daks and bent over.

Re: So what is Westaway going to do about it?
EM why does Westaway have to be vocal in the media about the umpires?
Doesn't mean that the club sought a please explain from AFL HQ and from reports there was a letter coming from AFL HQ apologising for the performance of the umpires anyway. We can thank previous coach's and administrations for our less than friendly relationship with the men with the whistles.

If the last quarter was 9-1 towards us and we got home on the back of a series of charities, do you think Eddie Maggot would just say "rub of the green" or actually say nothing?Buckets wrote:EM why does Westaway have to be vocal in the media about the umpires?

He, as the face of the club, would be screaming blue murder.
But not Alwaysaway.
He just stays invisible.
And we will probably get shafted again next time.
I'm not expecting the AFL to give us the points.
But we should be making them very much aware that a terrible wrong was done and putting pressure on for explanations.
To not do that just makes us an easy target for next time.

And to think I was PM'ed by posters on here telling me to toe the line and stop critisising Westaway and Football First because. well, I wasn't a lemming and wasn't going to be sucked into the mob mentality that was happening with the STKFC members when they decided to install this numpty as president.
Now look at the baying mob turn on him.
You fickle bunch of hysterics

Re: So what is Westaway going to do about it?
Westaway has so far overseen one of our most historically significant periods.
Misplaced anger by some he can't split football from the business of football.
Misplaced anger by some he can't split football from the business of football.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
