So annoying..Jack gets the free fora deliberate out of play....and then under no pressure f---s it up with shoddy handball to Hayes.
Jack had a very good game but that was a silly moment.

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
While Milney did well with three goals he also had three very silly plays.
Slinging Harry when we had a player in space about to mark was absolute undisciplined play of the highest order. Second time HO suckered him.
His attempt to kick goal of the year rather than just tackle Jolly who was on the ground was reminiscent of the Hawk player that lost the game for the Hawks last night.

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
Something has to be said about the umpiring against Milne, its ridiculous, 50 metres for swearing at a player, gets hit in the face but gets penalised for retaliating, the ump guesses a free for an arm chop when clearly there wasnt any.

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
If our club does not lodge an official complaint about the umpiring then we have no clue and no balls.
Absolute discgraceful display that just cost us premiership points..........

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
O'Brien asked 'was it a free?'
'I think they must've paid the mark?'
Put on the spot, not his fault, knows we got done over.

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
Never ever posted on a match day thread but that would have to be one of the most one sided umpiring i've seen, how such a close game could produce such a wide disparity of frees is beyond belief,
How could one side concede only 14 frees in such a fiercely contested game is once again beyond belief
Our resident AFL/Umpire apologist will say it was fine but 25 - 14 tells the story and how many did we get paid in the fwd line, i'm betting not one

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
I have never been so furious after a footy game in my life. Saints must lodge a formal complaint and the AFL needs to provide answers, and compensation on financial losses for missing the finals
Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
This is the critical point MadDog, it wasn't there, so what did the umpire see, had to guess, that's the whole problem with Umpiring nowadays. I just wish they would ONLY pay what they obviously see instead of assuming what must have happened.BringBackMadDog wrote:Something has to be said about the umpiring against Milne, its ridiculous, 50 metres for swearing at a player, gets hit in the face but gets penalised for retaliating, the ump guesses a free for an arm chop when clearly there wasnt any.

Re: Saints v/s Pies Match day thread
Why are we always on the wrong side of any close decision. For example we get the ball in the dying seconds we play on the clock is still running, umpire bloody calls Blood rule and calls the ball back, seconds have been lost, no chance now of even kicking the ball any longer. We need a rule like Basket Ball where they put time back on the clock.
Some time soon.
