That playground has been updated more than what remains of the Moorabbin Oval.

But that's Kingston Council for you.

I haven't been there this year but last season it was in a s*** state. They keep pulling bits off and digging up the terraces and not doing much to improve what is there. Does anyone know if the shop is still going down there, the little guy has outgrown his Rooey guernsey and wants a jack steven one now. He was a big Stanley fan but a few missed games at the wrong time and go jack.

Quite a few people missed them when we were still there  :P
An unforgetable memory from the FIRST game there in '65 was queing to get into the toilets only to find there were NO urinals, just blokes peeing on a brick wall with at thick 12mm bluestone floor! There were 51,000 there that day - nobody has any right to complain about similar sized crowds at Ethihad! :D

Also there were the Moorabbin City Band. We have a super 8 film of the boys running out. Now if we only had a projector!!

Plugger and Winmar - and Harves and Burkey starting careers there. And if you entered during the 2nds - from the South end (not Sth Rd) - there were a bunch of old hippy types smoking dope around a BBQ - and they would offer you a free sausage in bread and a toke. It was hilarious and none of my uni mates who came there actually believed it was all happening. If you joined that crew for a few minutes it made it a triffle hard to concentrate by the time the last quarter came around though .... lol .. not to mention riding the Suzuki home - which you could park on the footpath right next to the entrance.
Brilliant atmosphere all round and everyone used to stand exactly in the same place each week - and knew everyone around them by name. About 500 kids used to walk from end to end following Plugger when he got good - which happened incredibly quickly.

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

Great memories of this day...used to sit along the fence of the animal enclosure for many years and my kids all grew up supporting the Saints. Kids in the pusher at the front, seniors players always used to come out and have a talk during 1/2 half of the reserves games always great days, despite the results. One of my sons had is photo taken by the Herald Sun with a dejected face up against the fence watching this last game and is now framed for him. He is now a 25 year old Sports Scientist and still follows the Saints even though he lives in Brisbane.
