Rooeys knee
Now as I recall - it was about this time last year that Rooeys knee packed it in.
Im predicting he really struggles for the rest of the year. Shame Rhys is injured because we really do need him now. Roo and Kosi are totally cooked for the year. And I think we might be cooked for this year too.

If I recall, it was about this time last week that people were singing his praises.
Just take it week to week Con.

Re: Rooeys knee
the guy is a champ.no questions on that. only thing holding him back is the knee. just not sure there is anything he can about it at this time of year.SainterK wrote:If I recall, it was about this time last week that people were singing his praises.

Nah, he's still moving as well as ever..... Just like 2004
Yes he is a champ, two poor games in a row by his standards.... Largely due to his failing body

Who said he was moving as well as 2004? As I recall you said after round 1, yes after one game, he was moving like a super rules player. You are Con seem to go early together. Is there is any action going on between the 2 of you.
By the way im sure one day you will write what is actually written instead of lying.
Re: Rooeys knee
I reckon it could be a big consideration. Hard to imagine him making it through another Pre season and 20 odd games next year!matrix wrote:gawn

I think his body has played a part but the delivery he gets has been all time bad over the last couple of weeks.BigMart wrote:Nah, he's still moving as well as ever..... Just like 2004

The opposition have done a great job is closing his space but his teammates just don't kick to his advantage.
I can't begin to imagine how frustrating it must be to work as hard as he does to get himself in a good position against 2 or 3 defenders at a time only to have your teammate butcher the ball.

Yep, don't think we will see him next year.
Showing great courage to play each week but you wouldn't want him to end up a cripple.

Re: Rooeys knee
Well i think he will struggle out the year and hardly touch the ball (like august last year)
go to sweden in september. get the same maintenance job done. then go again next year and have similar issues come july 2013.

They should rest him this week and play wilkes. We should be able to beat them without roo.

but i did say he was gone as in the knee was going to be a problem for the rest of his career. but credit to him (and the swedish doc) for getting him going so well. and u are right. he has exceeded my expectations and shoved it up me a bit this year. hes been awesome. but dunno if he (the knees) can last a full 24 weeks.

C'mon - you've gotta be kidding!! No way!! We need the percentage, we can't rest the good players when we're 8 -8 and you never know with the Dogs - they're backs to the wall - they'll be saying we don't respect them. We need everyone out there including Roo. Put the best team out there or else you risk giving the opposition ammunition against you...pfft

Re: Rooeys knee
This thread is based on assumptions. Only Rooey knows how roo-ted his knees are. Why are we filling in the blanks for him?

Re: Rooeys knee
So we don't need him rested for the next week against the pies? I think Beeating the pies is more important than % against the bulldogs. In my limited opinion, he struggled badly in the second half and this week we would be better off with someone who can cover the ground. With all due reape t to the dogs they look pathetic at he moment
