Frustrating thing is that we could have, & should have won
The frustrating thing is that we could have, & should have won that game against the Swans.
Even with the clear advantage the Swans got from umpiring decisions we had plenty of the ball, but just let ourselves down at times with poor use of the ball.

Ah yeah, it's frustrating. But this was never going to be an easy game. It's more frustrating to think we lost to the likes of Port Adelaide.

Never easy...but it was within our grasp.
We really dominated the Swans in the second half but could not get the goals.

i cant even count how many games we have played where we lock it in our f50 for stoppage after stoppage... finally get a goal after 5 mins of hard work, for the centre bounce to give them a clearance and an easy goal in response...
it is possibly one of the most deflating things to watch, and i can only imagine how hard it would be as a player....
our forward and midfields are good enough, our backline is just too weak at the moment.... the players are good, but structurally we are missing height... (obvious i know, but i think i am finally coming to terms with it)

Could have, should have it's like a broken record with our club. Either you seize opportunities or don't. This club hasn't got enough matchwinners when needed to stand up, that's why we have lost games that were within reach.

See I disagree there.saintkid wrote:Could have, should have it's like a broken record with our club. Either you seize opportunities or don't. This club hasn't got enough matchwinners when needed to stand up, that's why we have lost games that were within reach.
That can, and did last week....
This was more ordinary as in just an ordinary, poor, ugly scrap.

Looks like the club will have a footy free September this year....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Still a bit early to call Bob.bobmurray wrote:Looks like the club will have a footy free September this year....
If the Dogs beat us, probably justified call.

Brisbane are crap compared to Sydney though.
But when Mummy did her knee they stalled.

Good teams don't throw away 25 point leads in the first quarter. That's what fustrates me the most. I must say though that I am looking forward to the years to come with Siposs, Saad, Stanley, Stevens, Armitage, just to name a few. We just need a bit more work with our defence. Things are looking good.

Brisbane aren't a top 4 side, let alone a top 8 team. Sydney is. This was the away game they needed to makje a statement with.

Around about 55 point turnarounds are always ugly.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

We will beat the Dogs!
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.
