Re: Goddard???
He is currently depreciating at $10,000 per game.

In fact, thinking about it, Murphy aside, I don't think I'd want anybody from Carlton's list. They are all either over paid +/- over hyped +/- mentally soft front runners, or merely GOPs. So definitely, salary cap space and draft pick/s from Carlscum, not players.
Do you mean Hampson? If so we get Megan Gale too! Worth the publicity?
Realistically though Goddard should not be alloweed to walk easily. I still believe he would like to be at the Saints and could provide real value in finals but he needs to find that motivation button soon and get back the form of 2009-10.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Re: Goddard???
Has played without his trademark passion and intensity this year. As good as gone I'd say. If he was committed to us, we'd have known by now. Think Scully, Ward, Davis, Ablett et al. Where there's smoke, there's blue cod. Thanks for your service, BJ.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Simple footy that is. I think that is proven by the posts.

Re: Goddard???
IF and only IF it gets to the stage that we have to make a deal with anyone, lets have a crack at Bellchambers from the Bombers.
But I would love to keep a happy and commited Goddard rather than lose him, because he has been and still is a gun when he's switched on.

Riewoldt at FF. Kosi in the ruck, drifiting up forward.
Re: Goddard???
yeah, something is up, maybe he is just over footy and wants to try his hand at golf.... seems all he talks about/thinks about (if twitter is anything to go by)
it is a shame, because he is a star, but as the comentators were saying today, his work behind the ball has made him lazy....
perhaps it would be interesting, if the 8 becomes out of reach, to play him in a run with role, give him some accountability, might learn a few things from gun midfielders...

I think Kosi is faster than BJ. BJ is good in one position only and hopefully the coach will work it out shortly. He is and will always be a receiving HBF. He will never a key forward. At least all his coaches know that.
Re: Goddard???
Carlton don't have ANYTHING on their list that equates to the value of BJ. End of story.
It will be one of the interstate clubs that get him if anyone does.
Not sure what BJ is angry about, but he better fix it quick. Think the anger is directed more at himself than anyone at the club. He seems to be terribly out of form and is frustrated that he can't seem to find a way to get back into form. Perhaps a week in the 2nd's would do him the world of good both confidence and form wise. Feel bad for Ray that he was dropped to make way for him. Farren has played well in the games he has had at AFL level this year and there are a few that should be dropped before him.

Let us be realistic. Do you think they would swap Murphy for BJ?plugger66 wrote:Murphy is twice the player BJ has been for the last 2 years.saint75 wrote:Carlton don't have ANYTHING on their list that equates to the value of BJ. End of story.

BJ at his best IS a better player than Murphy. The problem is, BJ hasn't been at his best for 18 months.
BJ and Cloke are still going to demand top dollar to leave their current clubs, and their current clubs are going to argue their value upon their BEST form, not current form. Should make for an interesting trade week....
For what it is worth, I still think BJ is going to stay.

I never said they would swap him but i do disagree with you. Murphy is a star. BJ is a very good player who is struggling badly. The worst part is he looks so slow.
Re: Goddard???
I'm sad for him.
I don't buy this contract talk crap.
Something else is wrong.
I'm actually worried his injury was significant, because he isn't leaping like he did, or kicking as well as he was.

BJ is and has only ever been a 'very good player'? Are you serious?
Murphy is a good player, no argument. But I disagree with you on who is the better player when they are in form.

However, if he is injured, don't play him. Ray can cover him.
