What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
Within 3 goals I'll be satisfied. I'll be rapt if we win but can't see us doing it.
I'm expecting a close contest, will be very disappointed if we get blown out of the park.

You'll be pissed off if the Saints lose by 3 goals
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

I'll accept nothing less than a win.
C'mon.. we're not talking about an invincible side like Brisbane of the early 2000's.
It's only Sydney.. and we beat them about 7 weeks ago.
People are talking Sydney up, but I'm not falling for the hype.

yeah, i've got $100 on sydney at the 18.5 point line. if we lose by a couple of goals in a decent performance then i won't be too unhappy.saintspremiers wrote:Within 3 goals I'll be satisfied. I'll be rapt if we win but can't see us doing it.

can't see a victory though unless riewoldt hits rare form - this is his worst ground except kardinia park, he's played 7 games at the scg for a total score of 8 goals 7 behinds. we'll need 18 goals to win and i just can't see them coming without him this week, not much room for the smalls.

Re: What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
single digit loss, with them below 90 points would be the bare minimum in my eyes...
however, i think we will win... match up well, roo will wanna bounce back after a quiet week last week... BJ will wanna get his market value back up (lol), and steven is going to want to make amends for his mistake...
feeling good, and looking forward to watching it on my brothers HD projector!!
Giddy Up!!!

Victory is only ever acceptable.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Sydney coming off a late game and a flight back from Perth. Could be a problem from a recovery POV?
Re: What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
Saints have won the last 3 games we have played at the scg.
So a win is the only result that I find acceptable.

Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

Win is only the ever acceptable result before a ball has been kicked in anger.

Re: What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
If Saints are serious about September we must win!!!
Damien Hardwick made a strange statement in round 5 or 6, when he said 'our season starts now.' At that point the Tiges had lost their 4th or 5th match and the coach was adamant that they were better than where their ladder position indicated. He knew what his team was capable of and he knew they were improving. Apart from the Connors/Martin stuffup and the flow on with loss to GC recently, in the main they went on to prove that Damien was right.
Saints have to start their finals run now. Our season starts NOW!!!

Reeks of 2011.
Have to keep playing finals footy to make the finals which are 2 months + away. By then theyll be like 2011 ... Very tired.
Port, crows, freo and tigers games killed us in 2012.

Re: What's an acceptable result vs Sydney?
We have the capability to win. Going in, why not expect a win! A good start will be very important.
The Swans Perth trip and playing on the big Subi ground on a Sunday (I think), is not a great lead in to what will be a tough match for them.
