No the extra week came about because the contact was classed a medium. The MRP decide the contact but that is influenced by the medical report.
Was CJ injured at all from this?
He looked spooked by it, but not injured.

No duty of care though for what 'could' have happened?

what does judd get his own tribunal day or something?
or has it always been monday and tuesday?
Always Tuesday. I reckon he will get 4 weeks if the shoulder was dislocated by the tackle or what ever you call it. If it wasnt dislocated he should get one week. It seems it was though so a few weeks off for him.

You're a big fan of the consequence dictating punishment…
For me, if his intention is to injure by pulling his arm that is the main factor, not whether it popped out or not.
A punch to the head off the ball should be a few weeks in my book even when it doesn't actually cause an injury.
another thing i disagree on
if the player is hurt in the incident the offender gets more weeks
how about looking at the incident and saying well f*** me he 'couldve' dislocated the blokes shoulder and caused injury so therefore 4 weeks
kind of puts it out there that shite like this is not on
but nooo
go ahead and give him one week because the shoulder wasnt dislocated
doesnt really send a message does it
anyway
prick will prob get off or get a week at minimum
whats hanging over his head?
doesnt he have points or % or whatever it is?
will that effect it?
This would be one of the most difficult cases EVER to predict an outcome. More because of the bizzare actions of Judd than anything else. I'll stick with 4 down to 3. Don't ask me why because I don't have a solid reason. It's pure guess-work !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I know it isnt a court but the impact has a huge bearing in courts.
Judd should be penalised far more severely than someone who bumps a player a few inches too high in a high speed collision. His only intention in his action was to cause pain and injure a defenceless player. Reckless bumps, late charges and even the stray fist/elbow always have and always will be a part of footy. But walking up to a player pinned to the ground and trying to dislocate his shoulder is an absolutely disgusting act that has no place in the game.
It's a terrible look for the AFL and I'd be disappointed if he gets less than 6 weeks. This was not an accident, in the heat of the moment or an attempt to "stop him handballing." He just saw an opportunity to hurt someone and forgot about the consequences.

Yep that will decide it. Anyway looking at this thread suggests anywhere from one to about 8 so there will be a lot of unhappy people whatever the decision. Thats why 4 seems about right to me. Right inbetween the guesses.
I don't underestimate the 'if the heroes do it the kids will emulate' factor. I imagine a ten year old leveraging a kids arm back to the point of break. That would go down very nicely in little league.

Just mentioned on SEN the NTh Melbs doctor reported that the shoulder was dislocated.
Should get four but what would i know????
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

If you think the same as me the answer is not much.
Am I missing something when Channel 7 yesterday morning kept banging about whether or not Judd could still recieved Brownlow votes and kept referring the Brownlow as being awarded to the best and fairest.
I thought it was fairest and best, which to me means Judd misses out and Channel 7 have no idea what they're talking about.

Judd can get votes for the game and can still win it if he gets less than 100 points. Even if he is suspended he will still get votes when he returns if he is in the best 3 on the ground.
North always seem to give the most damning medical reports so Judd was pretty much screwed to start with. Knowing the AFL they will probably pull a Heath Shaw and work out the exact number of weeks for him to be available for finals (if Carlton make it). Although he should be in for a long holiday, they let him get away lightly with the "pressure point" incident and they really is no plausible excuse (not that he's ever had one before) for what he tried here. With loading he probably shouldn't be back until atleast early next season.
I think someone who did something similar in Rugby Union went for something like 16 weeks, although I don't see the AFL doing that to one of their stars.

Umpires vote on "Best on ground". Fairest doesn't come into it.

If Carlton have huge issues with the result they might choose to take it before the courts which whilst not having much bearing on the courts could have a bearing on the AFL Tribunal process.

Do you enjoy having your own opinion or just agree with others who say the AFL, the commentators, the media and son on hate us. God I wish I agreed with those people. I am not arguing here. Having a sensible discussion. maybe you get your own way at home so much you cant discuss this without calling it disagreeing.
By the way have no idea what your first comment even means.
