Completely disagree. Has spoilt Brown on a number of occasions. Been tough in defense. Ive only seen two errant kicks.

Re: Geary - completely useless
Missed sitter ( cost one goal) and poor tackle (cost one goal). That's two against one player. Look, no one has more guts and less regard for his body, but that doesn't makeup for a lack of size, and more, ability. It's a pity for the young man, but that's footy. Remember, we are playing Brisbane, not Collingwood.bergholt wrote:yeah, what's your grounds for this call?

It's not me he has to beat. It's Collingwood and Hawthorn. He simply isn't up to the top standard.dragit wrote:Must be great being perfect all the time.

Missed sitter? That one from 50m under pressure?

If Geary was useless then what was Gwilt.
Next to useless?

Re: Geary - completely useless
ok...
Just so we can qualify the term "Useless".
Lets compare tonights game by Geary, against tonights game by Gram.
And just who is the useless one?

Didn't he get hurt early in the game. I thought he was gutsy with the thug Merret and Brown smashing the packs.

Some people have one agenda only
Its not an agenda.
People cant keep defending him forever. He is being carried plain and simple.
Needs weeks at Sandringham to get some, nay ANY form of workrate back.

The AFL must have thought Sam Fishers 18 DT points were gold. They have him in the best players.mr six o'clock wrote:Dream team points ;

Re: Geary - completely useless
That may support my argument, but I'm afraid I've never been able to work out those DTPs. Sam Fisher was on J Brown - who kicked one goal. Tom Simpkin was on someone who did nothing and didn't make any mistakes. James did one bad kick in. I mark players on the mistakes they make and then add in the good things (worth only 50% of a mistake). Premiership teams don't make mistakes. If anyone wants to follow a team that wins 11 and loses 11 then be an apologist for try hard but low talent players. I don't and I won't.mr six o'clock wrote:Dream team points ;

Well Gwilt was playing alongside Geary ... so perhaps he was next to useless at times.

Re: Geary - completely useless
Geary has been good most of the year.
While no one is perfect tonight made some errors that cost about 4-5 goals tonight.
From memory the Lions second goal was from Geary handballing forward to a Lion facing goal who then kicked truly.
Crude head high tackle on the goal line rather than round the waist gifted the Lions another goal.
Several sprayed disposals resulted in other goals.
Geary however was hard at it and had many good spoils.
However I am not worried about Geary as most games have been good. You judge a player on a range of games and just not the one.
The defender that I am worried about is Gwilt. His kicking week in week out is very poor. Struggles to find team mates. In the last quarter that kick sideways to I think it was Dempster almost became a turn over and soft goal at a vital stage of the game.

Re: Geary - completely useless
Completely off the mark bagging Geary. You sure you were watching the right game?
Re: Geary - completely useless
Anyone who used DT points to back up their argument lost just about all credibility. Geary has limited skills but has improved that area and is a very good small-medium defender.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Simpkin 10 X 1%, Geary and Dempster 9 X 1%...love how the defence is shaping up.
