Re: B.W.
Never understood why he was ever put into the backline. Apparently he's played down back before, but simply from watching his NAB cup games, you could tell he was hopeless in defence. Up forward, well, he was brilliant in the Melboune game. Haven't seen him up there since until now!

he made a lot of clangers tonight ... i personally found his game very frustrating ... hopefully he can take his chances though and show some improvement if he gets selected next week ...

17 possessions (10 contested), 15 kicks, 9 marks (3 contested), 2 goals and 1 goal assist. Yes, very frustrating - I couldn't find the "lot of clangers" amongst that lot. Yes
And when ray came on in the last , its always good to see players other than roo , kosi and macca taking contested marks around the ground .

Liked his game tonight. Seems to have an honest crack and has a mature head on his shoulders. Worries defenders with his marking ability and accurate goal kicking, and takes pressure off others like Roo. Would be good to see him get an extended run at it subject to performances. Was unlucky against Melbourne to be subbed when showing a bit.

Beau spoke after the game in the social club he seemed very up beat and said that the boys had got full into Milnes big night as milney has provided so much spark over the years for the saints. Great game Beau.

Re: B.W.
He played a very good game that was marred by some simple errors which will hopefully subside as he gets used to AFL footy again. He presented brilliantly and ran hard all day. Leads to the right spots and is generally a very good mark, also accurate in front of goal. Surely he'll keep his spot until Stanley comes back, and that's when selection will get interesting.
Re: B.W.
initially thought he made a few b grade skill errors, particularly in the third qtr. but after watching the replay, he was very good early. With more opportunity he could be handy. Certainly took some pressure of Nick as a leading forward
Re: B.W.
Agree with a few others, think his work to get into position and ability to win the ball in the air is really good, needs to work on his disposal and decision making but think be can as you can tell from his set shots that he is an accurate kick! Deserved selection and will be around a while based on tonight performance!
Maybe this year?

I didn't see many clangers. The saints played him in the right place this week, unlike the Eagles game where they played him in the back line.

Re: B.W.
I watched most of the game again last night and in the first half he didnt make any errors .. there were a few skill errors in the 2nd half which was what I was referring to in my first post.saintly wrote:BelfastSaint wrote:he made a lot of clangers tonight ... i personally found his game very frustrating ... hopefully he can take his chances though and show some improvement if he gets selected next week ...

However being able to watch the game again without the emotion of watching it live I am now more than willing to forgive the few clangers he made as his presentation, pressure and ability to get to where the ball was,was much more impressive than I had originally thought.
He could easily have a game where it all comes together and kick a big bag..
