Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch
Yep, one assumes to run some cover for Kosi after a woeful game. Gave up that Simpkin will be in this week as well as some kids and "players" that have been peforming well at Sandy. Guessing Faz is back in as well, and maybe one or two others.

Watters didn't say much although at the end of it i think he said Simpkin will be in on Saturday night as well some others who have done well at Sandy.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

You mean like; Jones, Gilbert, Gram, Blake? couldnt possibly could he?
Slow? opposite of when Ive seen him and when Ive seen him play at the elite level(albeit NAB) hes fatser than Armo and wins his own ball and hasnt he been in the bests on several occasions at Sandy?? Done way more than Cripps for mine...
No wraps, just look to the future and see if he can cut the mustard - dont panic, we wont destroy our current top 4 form overnight....

Please no, he is nowhere near ready. Thinks he's a one man team.Teflon wrote:give Ledger a go FS.

Well I defer to you Bernie as I know youve seen way more of him than I - that said.....weve a few in the ones at the minute playing like 1 man team so he might fit right in?Bernard Shakey wrote:Please no, he is nowhere near ready. Thinks he's a one man team.Teflon wrote:give Ledger a go FS.

Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch
There has to be a reason why Ledger didn't get drafted until pick # 59....Some on here are noticing what his issues are
due to their support of Sandy, are these issues bad enough to get him delisted or can the development coaches get him right.
That is a good test for the worth of spending resources on development.

Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch
Scott mentioned that decisions will be made at the end of the year regarding list management with a view to solving deficiencies to get us back to top four. He already knows who he is keeping/getting rid of imo - hopefully a good old fashioned cleanout will occur and I can support a young, enthusiastic team who give everything and may challenge in four to five years.

Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch
The coaching panel needs to take some of the heat with our recent losses. The panel interrogated Scotty and basically were accusing him and his assistants of some errors gameday and mistakes by our selectors in the team that lined up against North and a big mistake in naming Kosi and other blokes if they weren't 100%. SW gave the standard straight bat type answers and I would've preferred to hear him say something like; "yeah I'm still learning, and we could've erred in selection." On the other hand, sometimes it takes courage to try things and mistakes will be made and matches lost, but the lessons learnt should help the coaches better understand where this playing group sits and hopefully they will improve the sides chances of winning next time we face a similar opponent.
The knobs in production had a little compilation of Raph Clarke getting run down...give us a f#@@en break...every player has stuff-ups...Raph is not the sole reason we lost yesterday or the sole reason we lost against Geelong in 2009!! Scotty defended him and pointed to his positives. Maybe Roosy, Gerard and Mike thought up this segment or helped out with the Raph compilation and if they did, that's a pretty low act from them. Absolute bs way to fill time on the show by crucifying only one player.

I reckon if i scoured the tape I could find footage of any virtually any given St Kilda player making a costly c**k-up on Sunday.

Yep, would not be too hard. Weren't many that could hold their heads high after that game!bigcarl wrote:Scollop wrote:Scollop wrote:The knobs in production had a little compilation of Raph Clarke getting run down...give us a f#@@en break...every player has stuff-ups...Raph is not the sole reason we lost yesterday or the sole reason we lost against Geelong in 2009!! Markworth has been playing well, may be due for a call-up. Most of the rest of our better players have been rookies unfortunately. And Sipposs would have to come back as well.

Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch
Ledger looks similar to Jones in that he can get a lot of ball but doesn't use it well by foot. Needs a player running with him and is very short. He will be a player but probably in the Jones style not Dal. Markworth is about 50 kg so would probably get snapped in half at AFL level.

I think Ledger's poor disposal is getting blown out of proportion by the minute…gringo wrote:Ledger looks similar to Jones in that he can get a lot of ball but doesn't use it well by foot. CJ - god love him is clearly the worst kicking midfielder that I can remember since our very own Jack Daniels, Ledger might not hit a target every time, but his kicks go in a forwards direction.
Apparently he is slow too, but not when I have seen him.
