Was Milney sledged illegally yesterday ??
Never seen Milney so furious or ANGRY before.
Firito appeared to mouth off at Milney who reacted
like he wanted to kill him. Gwilt fended Firito off Milne
so I'm sure if anything bad was spoken he'd have also
heard it. This incident happened not far from us & all
agreed he was sledged. By the end his jumper was ripped off.
It's one thing for foul-mouthed supporters to sledge him for YEARS
but isn't it now illegal for players to sledge "untruths" !!!!!!

Only if an umpire hears it or Milney cares. i certainly doubt Milney would say anything.

hope something is done.
milne has taken it from supporters for 8 years.
felt for Milney after l watched the replay and as l said in another post
heard it was worst than what Malthouse said.
But of course nothing will be done by the AFL as they are gutless plus Milney won't dob
unless someone on the field says something who heard to officials

Can you explain how the AFL can do something if no one says anything?

Milney needs to write a book when he retires giving it to the afl and various players who've sledged him !
that way the afl carn't impede him in any way , basically he can say F@#$ You !
This is of course unless he wants to be involved in coaching or the media !

If someone in the crowd along that boundary line heard it then yes the AFL can do something.plugger66 wrote:melton girl wrote:hope something is done.

And how do they find that person and it will still come down to Milney.

what if the people who heard it made a complaint to the AFL or to STKILDA surely something
has to be done.
yes it may be up to Milney at least the AFL will be aware of it happening

This is why Big Will was a scapegoat. It's nothing to do with what you say. It's all about who you say it to.dragit wrote:Let's be honest, Milney would illegally sledge every single match himself… Don't think he is about to dob someone in.

Milney needs to tip a bucket of paint over himself.

Yeah, if they're going to suspend Minson for what he said I reckon much worse has been said to Milney...disgraceful stuff from that a%sh&le Furrito.Megsie wrote:Never seen Milney so furious or ANGRY before.

Whatever you say about the Saints, we are not a 'whingeing' team.
Carlton lose in Perth and all you hear is whingeing about how dare the umpire give a 50m against the 'untouchable' Chris Judd.
Hawthorn lose in Perth and they whinge about the umpiring.
We lose to Port in the opening round due to RIDICULOUS 50m penalties and not a word of whingeing from the coaching staff.
There was a blatant free not paid against Adelaide in the dying minutes which cost us the game.
But getting back to Milne, he is vilified by all and sundry....who knows what filth Furrito uttered? We don't see Caro getting on her high horse about this do we!

PS imagine if there'd been this sort of focus back in 1998 when the a$sh&le Franchina (yes, I remember....Saints supporters have got long memories!), probably under instructions from Parkin was sledging Nicky Winmar when he was having terrible domestic problems. Who knows what the pr&ck said? I've never forgotten that and will never feel sorry for Carlton ever!
As we know, Nicky 'snapped' in that crucial game which stuffed our flag hopes and probably led to him leaving the club at season's end. So Winmar's last game of AFL football was played at another club.
How do you know Franchina didn't racially vilify Nicky?

Re: Was Milney sledged illegally yesterday ??
Before you jump to conclusions, Michael Firrito and Stephen Milne are actually good mates. Milney has helped out at numerous Gembrook FC fund raisers and T20 cricket matches organised by Firrito. It's extremely unlikely that he would have illegally sledged Milney. And if he did lose control and say something out of order, he would have been straight on the phone to Milne on Sunday night.

Yep - Milney was illegally sledged. Makes us feel so much better than he just lost his cool and selfishly cost the team a goal. No-one has a clue what was said, so the thread starts off with 'was he illegally sledged?' and ends up with 'that prick firrito, he must have done it.'
Lets deal in facts. Milne lost his cool. So did BJ and in the end two of our most experienced players set a shocking example to our younger players.

No idea if Milne was sledged but the 2nd 50 was incredibly soft. Firrito ducked his head into Milne and a 50 is paid for high contact.Moods wrote:Yep - Milney was illegally sledged. Of course it was OK for Petrie to deliberately rip his jumper and get him sent off and it was OK for Ziebell to bump him on his way off but the very slight contact when Firrito ducked his head into Milne was penalised.
To say Milne "lost his cool" is a bit of an exaggeration.

You've got to be joking? The north player stood there with arms wide apart and allowed Milney to jumper punch him several times to the face. The umpire was standing right there. I don't care how soft it was, it was plain stupid.kosifantutti wrote:No idea if Milne was sledged but the 2nd 50 was incredibly soft. The ole 'but what about what he did?' argument ay. So he got bumped on the way off. BIG DEAL
Not an exageration at all to say Milne lost his cool. Don't know what he thought he was trying to achieve, but whatever it was, it backfired badly.

I suggest you watch it again. Milne had hold of Firrito's jumper but I wouldn't say he gave jumper punches. The umpire was 2m away and he didn't see anything like that.Moods wrote:You've got to be joking? The umpire then sends Milne off to get his jumper changed, and as he is going off and getting in Firrito's face again, Firrito just duck's his head into him. That's where the 50 was paid presumably for high contact. But it was very slight contact and initiated just as much by Firrito as Milne.
