Adam Schneider
This guy should not be taken for granted…
Every possie he gets is worth about 2 of most players, just makes things happen nearly every time he gets it, such a clever footballer.

Re: Adam Schneider
Most of the experts on this site couldn't find a spot for him a few weeks back.
He is simply one of the first picked if fit.

Re: Adam Schneider
typical Schneider game... looked invincible when we were on top
then did about 5 more things for the rest of the game
then will get praised like a match saviour.
I will say this though, he does make every possession count

Re: Adam Schneider
Work ethic? If Schneider had great work ethic, he would be a very good mid. Schneider has an enormous amount of potential, but unfortunately doesn't work hard enough. I'm not saying he isn't in our 22 or a very good player, but if he worked as hard as Roo he would be a superstar.WellardSaint wrote:Worth 2 players, agree...if some of the other guys had half his work ethic and hunger...
Good player, but he could have been or could still be (if he turns it around) a very good to elite player.

He is a classy player with sublime kicking skills. We need more of them.

Re: Adam Schneider
2 first quarter goals were basically because of his own play. Lennys goal and the one after. What I did't get was according to the commentary Kosi came off and Schnieder became FF. Why hide him down there where he cant use his creativity? Is he not fit enough because of the top of my head I think it was early 2nd quarter.

Re: Adam Schneider
Those of you who say he has a poor work ethic obviously only watch the games on TV, or have little understanding of his role for the team. when our talls are fit and available for selection watters prefers a forward structure where we have two high tall forwards, and one deep. because of this structure the smalls first priority is to be crumbers at their feet. Now when we were on top towards the end of the first and the start of the second quarters, we were able to move the ball quickly and skilfully through the use of hit ups in players such as adam. However in the third we were easily beaten in the midfield and our rebounds out of the defensive 50 were often quick kicks to the wing to our tall forward who was often double or triple teamed by a spare in defence + todd goldstien. because of this the ball was often marked by the spare north player, and therefore the ball was not brought to ground. This makes is extremely difficult for adam and our other smalls to impact the contest. Long story short, just because just because Schneider is not getting reward for effort does not mean his work ethic is poor. Schneider may not be as aerobically gifted as say roo, however he runs himself into the ground each match. Schneider was one of our best last night and as bmart said, he was excellent offensively and he was also very good defensively as he, on numerous occasions had to cover one of the north mids (usually wells) down to our defensive 50 because one of the saints players had dropped off.
Sorry for the long post, however it annoys me when people ignorantly post about his application or work eithic.

Re: Adam Schneider
This is his second or third game back from injury, after coming off a very limited pre season. do you think stevie j has a poor work ethic too because he is not an elite mid but instead an aa hff? He has one of the best tanks in the afl but is played at hff because of how creative and destructive he can be. I have no doubt schneider would be a very good midfielder if played there, however he is more valuable to us at hff. Though you are entitled to your own opinion.Saintersss wrote:Work ethic? Re: Adam Schneider
He is our best and most creative user of the footy and is the kind of player we want delivering inside 50. Would like to see him starting on a wing to play as an oustide runner for Lenny and Armo to dish off to.
Re: Adam Schneider
HFis a tough position, because you rely on your team.....
Mids can just go and get the ball, chase it to every stoppage.... A HFF needs to hold structure, therefore can be limited...
It's why everyone wants to be a mid.... HF can be a dead position when starved of ball.... And a very taxing position defensively
