Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
Why would Clarke go out?
Just feel like all the fringe players have had a go, Polo, Farren, Clarke....when I listened to Scott in the presser after the Crows game, he didn't sound that positive about Raph to me.
Reckon if it's between all of them for the last spot, Farren will probably get the nod?
Funny that, because Watters sounded pretty positive about Clarke from what I heard. His run and creative ability. Will see though as we have a full list to choose from, which is great.

I Love Raph, his disposal efficiency isn't 0% as sum people on this forum would have you think, and he has courage in spades, I think he is benefiting from SW's game plan and should be kept in the team, , I thought he was one of the better back-men against Adelaide. But that's just my humble opinion
Love you Lenny

So who comes out when Stanley, Saad and possibly Simpkin are ready to go?The_Carpet_Snake wrote:I Love Raph, his disposal efficiency isn't 0% as sum people on this forum would have you think, and he has courage in spades, I think he is benefiting from SW's game plan and should be kept in the team, , I thought he was one of the better back-men against Adelaide. Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
the worst thing is that Gram (Witch's Hat) is picked.
Maybe Jones is a "maybe" to keep the Roos guessing about who will get Harvey.
My money is on Jones to go to Harvey and wear him tight.
Stanley must play to give us another fast tall.
Kosi needs support in the forward line, as he finds it hard to run much.
I luv Kosi, I believe he is doing his best, he must be labouring under a lack of aerobic capacity.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
I thought Kosi could have done with a rest this week. Hasn't been playing well and not needed in the ruck.
Saad has to go straight into the team, and Siposs must stay.
So, who is out from the Adelaide game? From memory Simpkin, Cripps were emergencies?

A rest surely means dropped. Was never going to happen but he is in terrible form and has been for 4 games. Hopefully he turns it around this week otherwise Stanley could take his spot.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
The Heraldsun website has Milera, Ray and Stanley as an emergencies
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
Kosi will stay as a forward and Stanley to come in.
McEvoy to ruck and float back
Stanley to ruck and float forward
Kosi & Riewoldt to stay forward = 3 tall forwards that will stretch any defence
I think we've only played this combination once this year but it has worked. What is needed to support this is speed (Saad, Milera). The only thing it can't support is all of Milne, Schneider,Saad, Milera & Sipposs.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Just had a look and from 25 named for 2010 Grand Final Replay the only players missing are Brett Peake, Steven Baker, Andrew McQualter, Robert Eddy & Zac Dawson and new players are Jack Steven, Raph Clarke, Arryn Siposs, Terry Milera & Ahmed Saad. Everyone else was named in 25 on Grand Final Day.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
Blakey's heroics in the ruck are what is keeping Simpkin out, you can't drop someone after that effort, it'd send a pretty bad message. He's being given a shot to hold down a forward - if this doesn't succeed expect to see Simpkin after about 3 or 4 weeks, provided his form holds up.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
considering the club hasn't made a call yet, what do you think the chance is of the herald-sun's random guess being correct?Devilhead wrote:The Heraldsun website has Milera, Ray and Stanley as an emergencies
for mine, of the named interchange, if it's between milera and saad then saad gets a run. i'd love to have stanley back in the side but i can't quite see where he fits - i want siposs to stay in for at least this week, as he's been improving. ray vs jones is an interesting one. and while i'd like raph out - we just have too many defenders - i can't see it happening as he hasn't been that bad.
but changes can and will come from anywhere on the field so don't get complacent because your favourite is named on the ground.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
Sheeezzz. Half the side has been "ordinary". And with Jimmy Gwilt still finding match fitness, Gilbert and Geary still poor disposal with a few mates, repeat, why does Clarke have to go out?

I agree with that.PJ wrote:Blakey's heroics in the ruck are what is keeping Simpkin out, you can't drop someone after that effort

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
St Kilda had withdrawn Farren Ray from its squad of 25 for Sunday' match v N Melbourne and replaced him with Beau Wilkes. Final 22 set soon.

Or it means Scott wants everyone to think that, and it ends up being in Saad out Siposs or something.

wilkes in means they are probably going to give roo right up to the last minute - so wilkes is ready to go just in case?stkildathunda wrote:St Kilda had withdrawn Farren Ray from its squad of 25 for Sunday' match v N Melbourne and replaced him with Beau Wilkes. Final 22 set soon.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
This is getting weird.
I guess that Saad only made his way into the side after Stanley was injured though?
Milera made his debut when Schneids was unavailable.
I guess their spots were never locks, and now we have a full squad to choose from, may be some shock omissions.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb - Update
I'd be very surprised if that is the final team. Saad has been incredibly dangerous in the forward line and had a hand in many, many goals. He has to play if fit. The Wilkes inclusion may mean Roo could miss or it could be smoke and mirrors.

Re: Round 14 Squad v N Melb
Well Saad is kicking 2 goals per game just like Milne, but he is averaging twice as many tackles and is ten years younger, plus his pace has created goals to others, he simply needs to play as does Stanley...SainterK wrote:This is getting weird.
