Geeez. Opportunities gone missing. Think it was Cook who blazed away when Archer was 1 on 1 with literally half a ground to himself. Unlucky by Ray, but fair from his fault there.
Not a great day for big men. Though there is a bi difference between Wilkes and Archer, Arch I think is just a bit too lumbering for my liking, not fantastic when the ball hits the deck, over ran it at a crucial point once.

Ross not many
Looked like ledge was tagging someone at stages, but I was only half half watching the game.
Ray was really good, him and Wilkes our best. Cookie and Cook are solid sandy players, no worse than say Polo.

Bad luck for the Zebras. It's hard to judge players on a fairly wet and windy day, but I will anyway:
- Wilkes: Timed his marks beautifully. He outmarked everyone today, primarily because of his composure just as the ball reached the packs and wonderful judgment. One of the best games I have seen at the VFL level.
- Ferguson: Showed lots of composure and reasonable strength. He is not far away from being able to compete well in marking contests as well. He certainly positions himself well.
- Shenton: Seemed comfortable and capable in contests, demonstrating solid skills. Not sure what his role would be in St Kilda, given our existing strengths, but perhaps could be a mid-size forward, with both marking and running skills.
- Ross: Fairly quiet day, not suited by the conditions
- Crocker: A great long kick, and some strong decision making under pressure, at least later in the day. A couple of errors, especially early, seemed to be more related to limited size and presence at this stage in his career.
- Markworth: Clean hands and decision making under pressure. Sees to be a natural footballer, but without the strength yet to collide into packs. Yet, one great tackle in particular suggested that his defensive skills are solid as well.
- Ledger: Launched at packs expertly and often snatched the ball well under pressure. Needs to steady and kick more precisely at times.
- Farren Ray: Great game. Almost unfortunately, besides Wilkes, seems to be in another league to most of the team with his awareness. A great supporter of the younger players as well.
- Peake: Similar game to many of his senior appearances. Works and runs hards, can kick long, but struggles in contested situations and while short passing. Unlikely to return to senior selection.
- Polo: Really used his power and experience to influence the game. His strength really shone today
- Jay Lever: Some encouraging decision making and positioning as well as reasonable foot skills. Yet to show the qualities that are needed in taller players though, such as strong spoiling, marking, or tapping. So, cannot quite see in which direction he will develop.
- Dunell: Very poised, with excellent kicking and handballing under pressure, besides one obvious blunder that cost a goal. Like Markworth, may need more size to allow him to show more intensity.
- Archer: Works hard. Capable of a reasonable grab, but a few too many skill errors to trouble senior selectors at this stage.
- Curren: Unlike some of our other younger players, already quite a feisty play, with strong defensive skills and clean hands. Perhaps a replacement for CJ in the future.

Curren seemed like he was in a taggers role and handled himself well. Dunell was quiet though, I was hoping to see a bit more of him. I'm pleased Shents did well he looked like the shift to vic had him going backwards. I liked the game of Cockie, Marigliani Cook, and Sikora for sandy all looked pretty handy.
