Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Dont think the coach would agree with Steven in the votes. Plenty of the ball and usual great effort but decision making was ? at times tonight which hurt us.

Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Not sure
1/ how Leigh montagna could not be in the votes
2/ how Sam Gilbert could not be in
3/ how Jack Steven could???
Opinion is cool, but seriously....
I think Jack just has to turn up to get a vote. I think you need to look at effectiveness of his disposals (one kick dribbled off his left foot which turned over for a goal) and his decisions with the footy...
But of late his defensive side has been wanting. 2 tackles in two games for a midfielder shows lack of defensive work rate.
He is certainly a ball winner, but not a quality ball winner... He runs hard fwd on the spread, but
No composure with the footy

Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Sounds like I'm being harsh on him...
He has had a good year and would be a clear 2nd in the B&F.... And he can certainly play
But he has a massive flaw in his game, and like Gilbert and Clarke his changers are costly..... I believe last night he was costly and his mistakes easily outweighed his output, hence why he shouldn't be considered IMO

Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Not being too harsh - it's obvious. The good news is that he is improving, and you can't say that for every player. When I give votes, I look at the effectiveness of a player. For instance, I gave Clint votes last week (about the only one who did) because he kept Gary Ablett to almost nothing. If a player gives up two or three goals through turnovers, then they have gone a long way to costing the team the win. They don't deserve any votes - unless they kick ten goals. Votes should not be given as an encouragement prize. I'm not giving votes in this game as only Sean Demspter was four quarter performer. Given the result, that, ironically, could be good news. Also, you miss so much watching on TV.BigMart wrote:...I think Jack just has to turn up to get a vote. Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Hi Perfectionist, maybe you could just give Sean the 5 votes then, and not give out your other votes, if you don't feel that anyone else is deserving this week? I don't reckon Sean should be penalised by the form of his team mates... that'd be a bit harsh...perfectionist wrote:... Re: Votes vs Adelaide
Gilbert- best game so far this year, and may it continue, Dal his classy self, Schneides great return, Hayes never lets you down...Steven good but unfortunate pyjamas... can't say any more. So many chances to bury them didn't come off.
