Nick Riewoldt
Not enough credit given to the skipper this year. Kicked his 500th against the Coast and has had a magnificent season. Has been a victim of his amazing earlier career form, and sure he is not the player he once was; a top 5 in AFL; he has been in the top 3 key forwards of the competition this season.
3rd in the Coleman playing at CHF.
3rd in Goal Assists
1st for Marks for Key Forwards
2nd for Marks inside 50.
And he has done it against the best, 4 against West Coast, 3 against Hawthorn and 3 against Richmond.
And he is building. I think since the Hawthorn game, he is really starting clunk them like the Riewoldt of old.
Let's hope he continues and kicks bag against the croweaters this Friday.

Re: Nick Riewoldt
I think his 7 last weekend is his equal highest goal-kicking score.
I hope he can better it before the end of the season. Next match would be nice.

What I like about Nick this year, is he no longer deserves all the credit....that's a good thing.
He is part of a forward line that is functioning really well.

Re: Nick Riewoldt
He seems a lot more settled/contented with his footy this year and where the team is heading. Now that we have other "options," I think that the constant pressure on him to carry the team, has diminished.
A bag of goals on Friday, would be nice ............

Re: Nick Riewoldt
I absolutely LOVED Saad's input into the 500th goal. I also love that Nick trusted him to be pushing it forward.

and of the saints playing that day, 10 are still on the list (and a chance to play this week if fish gets up), 6 years later. lenny was only 26, and it was sam gilbert's debut.

On his previous form who could blame them but his return to form is welcome.SaintPav wrote:and some want him to play at CHB...mr six o'clock wrote:according to allot of flogs on this website , he's hopeless !
Some are still delusional that he's the best fwd in the league, running round in the same manner he did at his peak...(and Franklin's an up and comer)....er not quite...

Probably the 2nd best key forward in the league right now behind Franklin.Teflon wrote:On his previous form who could blame them but his return to form is welcome.SaintPav wrote:and some want him to play at CHB...mr six o'clock wrote:according to allot of flogs on this website , he's hopeless !

Re: Nick Riewoldt
It's made an enormous difference having an actual forward line around him.
Lyon expected way, way too much of him the way we set up. No one can consistently compete and win against three opponents.
But Ross continued his flawed plan to the very "end of an era" despite it being obvious to many supporters that this was a chronic problem. The point was made on here ad nauseam.
It took it's toll on a champion, but he's been good enough to recover.

Finey should remember he's a Saints fan first and foremost and stop sucking up to SEN.gringo wrote:According to that flog Finey he accidentally kicked his 500th when he stuffed up.mr six o'clock wrote:according to allot of flogs on this website , he's hopeless !

Finey is a dick. Great to see genuine support for Roo so many times under Ross he was double or triple teamed feels like players around him are creating more for him this year.

Re: Nick Riewoldt
Need him to kick a bag this week. If he continues this form, we could be genuine flag contenders.
Re: Nick Riewoldt
Finey's a ripper, only issue is at times he goes overboard on trying to prevent a St Kilda bias, which he readily admits.andrewg wrote:Finey is a dick. How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
