They may feel that Simpkin could do with a two week break.
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.
Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
I was looking forward to seeing Simpkin v Walker
I'm still feeling another late change

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Leaves me feeling oddly hollow after the way Newnes and Simpkin have played over the last few weeks... Very happy with the ins and not sure who I would have taken out instead of them, but hollow nonetheless.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Simpkin out. That's a surprise. He's also in my Dream Team, as is Geary. Oh well.....
Fisher and Mc Evoy had to come in, and the outs were always tough.

Schneids or Siposs for Sub.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
I'd feel safer with Simpkin in the back half instead of Clarke or Gwilt tbh.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
I would not be at all surprised if there was a late change - should have called it Round 12 Squad v Croweaters.....

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Let's say Ben is a late out, how do they restore the balance in the side...as it seems a bit out of whack to swap Ben for Newnes?

That was rubbish what I said. Forget it.SainterK wrote:Let's say Ben is a late out, how do they restore the balance in the side...as it seems a bit out of whack to swap Ben for Newnes?

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
If McEvoy was a late change, they might bring in Simpkin to the backline and Blake shares the ruck with Kosi again.....
If Fisher was a late change, same replace with Simpkin
If Saad is out with concussion, then Geary or Newnes come in
You never know with Watters.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Kosi looked very slow after the ankle injury.
6 day break.
Kosi out IMO with Geary replacing him.
I heard Johncock (head) is out for the Crows.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
I am surprised that Saad didn't get a rest given the concussion.
It is no surprise to see Newnes out for Fisher but I thought Simpkin had done enough to keep his spot above Gwilt or Clarke.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Simpkin is still going to play 20 games this year and that is a great effort for regardless.Old Mate wrote:I'd feel safer with Simpkin in the back half instead of Clarke or Gwilt tbh.
Clarke has to play either sweeping or running up the ground. If he has a direct opponent/forward tagger to channel through the Crows will have a day out.
Schneider needs to play the full game as does Siposs. Both are great kicks obviously and the former is in our top 10 at the club anyway. It would be a waste to make either of them sub.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Did'nt Clarke start on the wing last game? Jimmy's form has not been good, not good enough to keep Simpkin out anyway.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Excellent team, agree with selection.
This is an important game and I reckon that both Simpkin and Newnes need a break.
At this stage in the season, the hard bodies start to stand up. The kids struggle to carry little niggles and injuries.

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
Big surprise.
Would have put Simpkin ahead of Gwilt on their present form and importance for this match ... with the two tall Adelaide forwards ... Gwilt is not yet fit enough and has not recovered enough pace to play as a key back.
IMO it says that McEvoy is a certainty to play, because it must mean they are confident that Blake can play down back, or at least help out down there ... otherwise we are leaving ourselves short.
Simpkin is not really a "kid" - maybe in AFL terms, but he's got a pretty mature body, I would be surprised if he is feeling the pinch, unless he's carrying something

Re: Round 12 Team v Adelaide
If simpkin doesn't play , can only be to give him a rest !
unless he's injured !
Has be our most consistant defender all year .
