Shepparding out

Post: # 1225566Post older saint »

Richmond played better and deserved to win.

One skill they have mastered and got away with ( except in last qtr after much complaining) is shepparding a player off the ball when it is more than 5 metres away. Rance made no play for marking contests all night his sole purpose was to stop Roo having a run a the ball, yet it took a 50 m penalty after a spray for the green blind mice to notice this.

i hope that it gets mentioned in passing in the media as it was a tactic ( which worked well so good luck to them) but it is against the rules of the game

have been seeing it all year
i sit in the pocket next to the cheer squad and i have a good view of it
i truly feel for the guy
countless times he is scragged and his run taken away at a contest, let alone the swans tactic of submarining
he is often glaring back at the umps and remonstrating with them
the media have played their part in this by publishing articles saying he is a protected man
now the umps look like they don't wont to be seen favouring him

this is not basketball, where the tactic is legal

as in all disputes over umpiring, it is not the ones they pay as much as the ones they don't pay

up to the Geisch to stop it

The other one I noticed was Richmond players clearly pushing their opponents over generally in the back in a pack situation just off the ball.

The umps missed at least 4 - 5 of them.

Apparently you are allowed to push people in the back provided they are not in a marking contest.

Things have changed since I played

So the point of having three umpires is what exactly?

Thought thats what at least one of them was supposed to be doing.

Maybe they we all just ball watching.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

The are too scared to pay frees that are going to result in goals in a close game.

They'll happily pay these frees when they don't count.

Reiwoldt would have had probably another 30 shot at goal this year if the umpires hadn't of missed so many obvious frees on and off the ball.
