Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
REeckon you might have it there pluggs.
Would honestly be disappointed to see anyone else lose their spot.
If Clarke isn't admitted this or next week, I can't see him breaking back into the side barring major injury to backline.

Out : Geary
In : Clarke
On the radio today there was talk about the Saints weighing up the option of bringing Schnieder back in. And for the life of me I thought hell no it means we lose one of Milera and Saad! What a position to be in. Who said we didn't have some depth!

Oh.
So the #14 is going to miss.
Bummer timing given Richmonds smalls.
Hope he is OK long term, facial fracture sounds painful.
Out Geary (inj)
In Clarke
So what will they end up with?
Simpkin to Riewoldt
Gilbert to Vickery
Perhaps Dempster to Nahas?
Clarke to King?
Jackson has been playing as a defensive forward, so he might play on who....Goddard who is playing a Fisher like role?
There is always the left field in of Schneider, not much being said about him....they may simply play Siposs the entire match and have Adam sub?
So out Geary, in Schneider?

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I'd love to see Sippos in the starting 21 this week. He looked like he was picking up the pace of the game by the end of last week's game.
I have a feeling that there will be TWO changes this week. We know that Gears has been ruled out and I think that Raph & Schnieds will come in. The other out could be one of Milera, Saad or Cripps purely because they are young (in AFL terms) and might need a rest as part of their management program. Then again, I am guessing like everyone else. We'll all know 40 minutes before the bounce tomorrow !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Richmond have some incredibly good small players - both half forwards and midfielders.
Jones will go to one of their gun mids, but who else can play a small defensive role for us?
I wouldn't like to see Gwilt or Dempster on Nahas or Edwards or King isolated in the forward line ... they will be too quick and mobile.
We need a player to replace Geary who can play as a small defender. R. Clarke cannot play as a small defender - he plays relatively tall for his size, and has never had the agility (despite excellent spoiling skills) to play a lockdown role.
Newnes played that role in the VFL, and Polo has done it with some success before.
IMO Polo or Newnes come in for Geary. Whether there is another change is a difficult decision.
Does Schneider really only play a half a game in the VFL and then come in for a full AFL game after 8 weeks out injured? Is that wise? Will the club do that? Not sure ...

Would love Schneider to come in ASAP but I believe he will require more game time at Sandy (which is going to be hard).
I honestly believe that with Milne, Millera and Saad in the team, Schneider will play further up the ground........ eventually

Why drop Gilbert when Geary is already injured.
Don't you rate having a backline?
And what is so terrible about Gram?
Sounds like you have a vendetta.
Try again squire.......

He did limp off in the third quarter last week with what seemed like a knee/ankle injury. But he returned to the field about 5 minutes later.saintly wrote:there is talk on big footy that Steven is out due to a twisted ankle. anyone else heard this?
I hope he comes up alright.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I like Gilbert, I just feel that his disposal is below par and perhaps he needs a spell in the VFL to release some of the pressure on his shoulders and to lower the expectation on him.
We definitely need Gilbert in the side when he is at his best because I love how he breaks the lines.
Polo for Geary is a like for like. Tough lock down player.
Geary has had a great year and it would be sad to see him miss through injury.
Clarke and Ledger are both harder and tougher than Gram.
Ledger has youth on his side and needs experience in the big league. I think Ledger would suit as a half back flanker.
I prefer both Clarke and Ledger over Gram.
Although I do agree that perhaps now is not the time to make 3 changes at once, so let's keep Gilbert in the team and hope that his form turns around soon.
