Blake J.....1 Vote
On Brownlow night!
Surely he have to crack it after that effort.
But no ump would be game to give him more than 1 vote

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
Kosi is sore.
Mark my words.
Don't know when, and how...but watch the replay, running like he has hurt his thigh or something for most of the second half.
Hope not, the big man stocks can't afford another hit.

Love his courage. If he was 5 cm taller he may have been one of the great rucks of our era. Gotta love the Blake.

I rewatched all of last week's game looking for a shot of Blake chasing Butler as in "I'll get you Butler." No luck.tony74 wrote:Well done Buses

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
J blake was an outstanding player before two incidents. 1. that piece of s*** from sydney who's name escapes me, got 2 weeks for purposely dropping his knees into blakes spine. (third offence of this nature). Blake was interviewed afterwards as saying 'he has to manage the pain'. I've done my knees, shoulders and achilles (some of you were there for the achilles injury ) and I'm lucky I've never done my back. Everyone with a back injury says its like a permanent tooth infection, you manage the pain from day to day with strong drugs. 2. Blake single handedly drove st kilda back into a game against the pies, before Anthony Rocca rammed him and dropped his knees in the back again.
I've been a fan on this forum of blake for a decade now. I love the underdog.
If anyone deserves a premiership it would blake because although I don't believe in karma or justice, there is something about the guy who stands tall and true, cops the abuse and plays truly every game.
That said I hope he doesn't get a brownlow vote

Spot on Dan!
Blakey was excellent last night. Ran off the Swans ruck duo, delivered the ball superbly and was gutsy when the Swans were looking good early. A great loyal servant and a role model to others on what commitment and resolve can do. Just love him.

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
Should have got at least 2 votes, and possibly 3, against the Hawks at Etihad Sat nite game 2008. He was on fire that night.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.
Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
3 votes for this game. Definitely our best. Brilliant at the stoppages. That 1st quarter goal got us going again. Armitage was also good...one of his best games.

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
I liked how he ran forward and kicked a goal...was on the wrong side for a right footer as well...
Would love to see Blakey do more of that..he would be and all out weapon if he could bob up and kick a goal or 2 per match...having multiple big bodied goal kickers running forward (ie Roo/Kosi/Stanley and Blake) would create massive headaches for opposition backlines...

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
From today's HS
http://heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/j ... 6375656565
ALL we are asking for is one miserly Brownlow vote to recognise a career that has stretched 208 games and 13 years without ever hearing: "St Kilda, J. Blake, one vote."
It should have happened five years ago when Jason Blake played a blinder in Round 16 against the Hawks, kicking three in the last quarter to help set up a five-goal win.
But there was nothing come Brownlow night. Riewoldt, Hayes and Montagna took the votes, while Blake had to yet again be satisfied with accolades from within.
No more. We want action, and we want it this season. So umpires, vote one for J. Blake allowing Ross Henshaw, the fine North Melbourne back-pocket of the 1970s, to reclaim the record for having played most AFL games without a Brownlow vote.
It should be pointed out this campaign has not been led by Blake,h a man who is comfortable with his achievements irrespective of umpire recognition......

Re: Blake J.....1 Vote
There is a great piece in Today's Geelong Advertiser!!!!!
http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/art ... inion.html
WHO am I?
I have played more than 200 games over more than a decade.
I played in 16 of St Kilda's 17 finals appearances since 2004, including the three grand finals.
I have earned the respect of the five different coaches I've played under, but have never won a best and fairest or club honour.
Can't guess who I'm talking about? I'm not surprised...........

It was actually the third quarter.
