Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Last week he had 10 touches against WCE and no influence on the game whatsoever. If he wants to maintain his position in the team/midfield he is going to have to bridge the gap between his best & worst performances. Perhaps it was the larger ground in Perth as covering enough ground has always been his weakness.
Was he playing on Beau Waters?

Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Yep. Hate to agree on this. He's been pretty good this year armo, but last week was very disappointing. Not as if he gets tagged out of games either. He's into his 6th year or something. We just need his poor games to be 16-18 possession games rather than 8-10 possessions. Hopefully last week was just an off week. It's guys like him that will drag our team up the ladder or will see the team plummet...
Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Firstly i dont like bagging other posters but you never have a postive post.
But Armo wasn't alone on sunday thought he was good in the second half. But your right his good 1 week bad the second is begining to be a concern.

He seemed to be playing as an outside runner, almost around the wing?
Or was that just my imagination?

He had 13 disposals and a dozen or so stiches in the gash under his chin.
Will be one of the first picked each week and a real barometer of how the side is going!

I can think of about 16-17 that would be picked before him…

Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Armitage one of the first pick!!! I highly doubt that.
He needs to get consistent. Been a bad problem of his during his career. A poster said above, he wasnt alone. Well thats true, but thats still not an excuse.

Not a huge fan of Armo but he had a pretty good year. Last week wasnt great but that happens. What he has to do though is make a ordinary game around 20 possessions and a good game up to 30. Still doesnt quite get enough for a mid.

Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
His disposal stats my not be consistent but his effort and aggression sure as hell is. It would be nice if he did rack up a few more touches but his tackling and 1%ers were still first class against West Coast.

I dont think he has a clue who I am as you dont. I reckon I am nearly the only one not to bag him on this thread but you pick my post. Very strange. If you dont like people being honest maybe you shouldnt come on here.

Time for him to turn things around this week on the smaller ground. To win this week, everyone needs to lift.

Oh wake up to yourself. If you don't like people picking your posts maybe you shouldn't come on here. And I know enough about you. People are being honest and I have told David that anything below 20 possesions a game for him his below par. The thing is tho that some people might get alot of possesions but some of these players get cheap, non influential possessions. There has only been a couple of games I have been happy with Dave this year and his highest possession game wasn't one of them.plugger66 wrote:DWOODROW wrote:I don't think he's a huge fan of yours either so nothing lost there.plugger66 wrote:Not a huge fan of Armo but he had a pretty good year. I will agree that I don't think he has been too bad this year, but Jack Steven has had games this year where he has been below par as well.
Not really sure we need to start a thread about it from Winnersonly. Its wednesday for f*** sake. MOve on to Sydney this week and look forward to a possible win. I only saw the last qtr on the weekend and the boys coming back from as far behind as they did was a pretty decent effort in my book.
But anyway plugger you have a good night,

Way off the mark Mrs Montagna...i thought Armo was an orphan brought up by Wolves..dragit wrote:bit of a stretch… in fact, completely wrong.elizabethr wrote:He had 13 disposals and a dozen or so stiches in the gash under his chin.

DW, do you have another brother?
I saw someone at the Hawks game who was a dead ringer for Armo, sitting in the stands?

Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
I think Dave suffers from luke Ball disease. With all the outside silk and Lenny and now Steven getting first bite at the engine room he is left to more around the ground work. We should model his game on the one Collingwood developed for Ball. He's hard and defensive and kicks goals so he's a handy player with another 5 possessions per week he will be awesome.
Re: Armitage still can't manage consistency !
Yes, he can bulldoze and have influential touches and stick some big tackles.... Or run around getting cheap ineffective touches??
His count usually coincides with minutes in the middle. He won't play a lot whilst Len is there, cannot have 2 inside/one paced mids at on time...
