Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
Great to see Gwilt back but hopefully not at the expense of Armo or Farren. Think they were both fantastic against Carlton.
Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
I would think Armo and Ray are locks after last weeks game, so assuming theres no change to the on field 18, its 2 from: Gwilt, Cripps, Siposs, Newnes and Wilkes
I'm guessing Cripps and Siposs (sub)..
Cripps to provide more run on the bigger ground...

Guess we won't know until 90 mins before.
I hope we see the Fro running around at Subi
Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
Still no Ledger, not even as an emergency. They must have some sort of plan for him...Get plenty of minutes into his legs with Sandy or something. Is he unfit cos his form has surely warranted a position at least in the 25?

You'd think so. Gilbert was disgusting, but I think it would be a mistake to drop him.

Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
I guess the midfield was VERY strong against Carlton, be hard to make a change.

Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
Gwilt has played forward before and he's a much more complete player now than he was then. But the plan may be to drop Wilkes, play Sipposs as the third tall and ease Gwilt in as the subgosaints wrote:Why would Wilkes go out for Gwilt??? Ones a forward and ones a defender.

Id play Ledger before Cripps. Can not understand how a fast player who wins his own ball and who has demonstrated good form cant get a run.Old Mate wrote:Still no Ledger, not even as an emergency. I think that would be a wise move, we need to make sure he is 100% before he plays in the seniors.borderbarry wrote:Dont be surprised if Gwilt is'nt given another week at Sandy.

Close to the mark Sobraz. I love Gwilty, but not as a sub on the big Subi oval. It's Siposs and Wilkes for me.Sobraz said : I would think Armo and Ray are locks after last weeks game, so assuming theres no change to the on field 18, its 2 from: Gwilt, Cripps, Siposs, Newnes and Wilkes

Cripps to provide more run on the bigger ground...I love Gwilty, but I can't see a place for him this week. On the big ubi ground, we need somone with pace as the sub.

Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
Why was Gilbert disgusting last week? Because of the early mistake? He set up a number of goals (including the last one to Stanley as well as Jack's in the 3rd) and he's a defender. How many goals did their key forwards kick again? Why this continual Gilbert bashing? Is it because Raph hasn't made it back yet?
Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
With you 100%. He won the game for us in the last quarter against Collingwood and again last week. I see him as the ideal supersub. I think it is simply a case of who do you drop? I think he would have come in last week but they saw Ray as being a better match-up. At least Peake and Polo are never to return...Old Mate wrote:Still no Ledger, not even as an emergency. Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
I just thought he was particularly poor. The worst I've seen him. But, as I said, IMO it would be a mistake to drop him. His upside is too good to ignore. At his best, he's in our top three or four most important players. That's how important I rate himGeorgeYoung27 wrote:Why was Gilbert disgusting last week? Because of the early mistake? I think Jimmy will play at Sandy, buuuut would he be a chance to be the sub? work him back into it? i think hes a chance.
Re: Round 8 Team v WCE
Gilbert lowered his colors last week to A.Walker. He was shocking really, he has struggled since 2010.
