A positive from playing Monday night football

Post: # 1217235Post Fraser »

Hey guys, this is my first post in years but would like to say that tonight, everyone will be watching us since it's the only game tonight. Here's hoping for a good result and a test of character and heart.

Good on you Fraser, I'm excited too!

A lot of sad-sack thread titles at the moment…

Gotta love the club, top 4 or bottom 4.

A positive will be our 10 point win and CJ only allowing 13 possessions to C Judd (still receives 3 brownlow votes though) despite Hayes getting 38 disposals.

It would be nice for BJ, Dal or Roo to get a hands down, all 10 coaches votes, tear the game apart type BOG tonight... In which case, Im sure we'd win...

However, the likely scenario is Dal will struggle to work through a tight tag, BJ will get his floaty 26 touches, 120 supercoach points across half back, and Roo will get hammered at every marking contest, and we'll be about 8 points down per quarter, for a 5 goals loss...

It's time for one, just one, of our known stars to crank it up tonight and tear Carlton a new one...

With Carrazzo out it might mean that Dal has a better chance of hurting them this week. Who would tag him now?

Any of Armfield, Ellard, Curnow or Simpson?

Hoping the trend of upsets continues this weekend.

Carlton have more to lose.

Go all out.

Armfield will get first crack I recon... This week, if Dal is struggling, he must be pushed deep forward and work one out... No point in him just getting frustrated and his opponent getting more of it than him...

Simpson is a very important and dangerous player for them... Must be matched up... Joey on the wing may be the go, with Montagna doing more of a semi run with role as opposed to straight up head to head...

Be nicer if no one can split them, such was their collective brilliance.

DON'T want to see -
- Carlton players loose because of poor checking.
- cheap goals by Blues small men.
- bizarre 50 metre penalties

DO want to see -
- Saints playing as if their season depended on it
- Better delivery to front-line talls.
- ruck physicality against Kreuzer.
- Milne and Milera "mind-melding" like the Krakeour brothers and kicking 10 !!
- Saints back in the 8.
