No you obviously have to ask for permission from saintsational before making any other plans.
While I'm at it..............
I am unable to attend Monday nights home game as I have to work til 8.30pm is this okay?
I understand that I am now not a true supporter and may even ask the local cops to lock me up for a while for my punishment.
I am deeply sorry to the Hierarchy and beg for forgiveness.

I also won't be there on Monday night as I have no desire to arrive home in Geelong @ 12:30am on Tuesday (and that's IF V/Line is running on time and IF there are cabs at Geelong Station when the train arrives) when I have to be up @ 6:00 am to go to work.
Happy to go through all that on a Friday or Saturday night. Happy to put up with a twilighter on a Sunday. But it's just too much hassle during the week.

No need to be a drama queen about it. This week we play at Etihad so you wont be missed.

I am being forced by Australian Statistician to be interviewed by the ABS - randomly selected. Maybe Saints can issue same legally binding notices!
'you have been selected by the St Kilda football department to attend this Monday night's match against Carlton. you must attend, this is legally enforceable. you must not leave prior to the final siren. you must accept it when Carlton supporters yell disturbing abuse at your beloved players. you must smile with compassion when a Carlton supporter pours beer over your head. you must explain to you child that this is all normal behaviour. you must comfort your crying wife. then you can go home crammed with happy Carlton supporters, for you are going to get smashed.'
I think people are missing the point. Our crowds are down when we play at the MCG compared to the dome. This has nothing to do with people having other commitments. It's about the lack of support when we are out at the MCG. We scream for years to get the good slots, the blockbuster games, more games where the finals are played. Then we don't turn up. Pathetic.

Supporters or otherwise...I'm just happy the guys get to play there this year (especially some of the kids who wouldn't have played there much) because they have to be familiar with the ground.

Exactly!
And everytime the issue is raised, we get attention seekers advertising their life stories.

MCG. Be there or be square.
Completely agree. No need for ppl to be sarcastic and explain why they can't be in attendance. The point is - if you have a prior commitment or can't even be stuffed going, good luck to you. But why won't people go to the G and support our boys, yet are happy to go to Etihad?? Saying - 'I don't like the G' or 'it's too cold, I don't want little Johnny to catch a cold.' Or 'the carpark is too big and scary' is quite simply, pathetic. We shouldn't EVER complain about the pies or bombers monopolising big games in the best slots. To be honest, the team may deserve these slots, but our supporters have shown that they do NOT. If I ran the AFL I certainly wouldn't put the saints on against big drawing clubs in prime time at the G. Why would you?

So I am also very sorry.
Soft!
Yeah, not good enough Doc! Here I am 1000kms from Etihad, and on Monday night, I will be making the effort to hop up off my bed at 730pm, to walk out to the lounge to watch the Saints!!
At some stage during the game, I will have to get up from the couch and WALK TO THE FRIGGIN' KITCHEN TO MAKE A COFFEE!!!
Do you ever see me whining on SS about all the traveling I do to watch my boys? Of course not!
When the Saints play up here in June, I'm actually gonna have drive for 20 minutes to park near Nerang station, then get on the bus to Metricon for 3 minutes! Ludicrous I know but I will battle through it!
No, I'm disappointed in you Doc! Harden the f*** up!

its because it is a see you next tuesday of a ground with s.hit parking, and too hard to get home from.
I absolutely hate the fkning joint and wont go there if possible.
Obviously have to when and if we play finals, but otherwise it can stick itself up its own arse.
Also I was living my life on Saturday night and had no intention of going to the football. may have if it was at Etihad but not that hole of a ground.
Lance or James??

Bulls.hit, the ground is a c you next tuesday of a joint. Etihad is so much better. A better view, better parking, easier to get home from, you dont get wet or cold.
F.uck going to that other s.hithole to get rained on, with a view from 3 miles away and then watch the umpires completely ream us?
Yeah well if you are that sad and all you have on a Saturday night is the football good luck to you.

love watching footy and get to as many games as I can. MCG is a great venue when there is a crowd but an embarrassment when it's like the melbourne game. They let us sit in the melbourne members area because they wanted numbers for the cameras but couldn't stand getting glared at so we walked around the outside in the rain a quarter time to sit with the cheer squad. Felt sorry for the band who had about 4 people watching.

Cannot believe we are actually related to people who played for Carlton Millarsaint. Of all the teams in the AFL Carlton are the one I despise the most.

Not sure if this post is serious....
Not sure what 'c you next Tuesday' means...
MCG is world class. Best stadium I've been to in the world.
Etihad is a manufactured experience which isn't even in the same league as the G.

and you reckon its all about the interstaters because they are the ones that seem to be commenting in the thread?

Should we debate this point first....

No it's not about interstaters. Do you actually think posters were blaming interstaters for our poor crowd at the MCG? That is why I don't understand how you could take offense and be all woe is me about the issue.
I could hit back at that nuffbag comment, extremely tempted to but I won't. I'll back my actual contribution to this site... without the overuse of smiley faces and abundance of meaningless comments.

Can't wait to beat 'em Monday night.
yes I know it's a shocking piece of history, Ray Brew. you won't want to go here then; http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Ray+Brew
admire your optimism but reality has set in for me (in a comfortable way) and we won't win Monday night
