Just thinking ahead. I was surprised that Saad got a gig didnt think he was overly impressive against the Pies in the VFL last week.
Fisher is out that's a given so bring in Wilkes. Not saying that he will take his role. Perhaps have Roo being that floating HB player?? Biggest issue I found last night that Roo and Kosi time and time again went for the same mark surprising that after all this time they still can lead to different areas in the 50!
Milne and Joey have been down on output so far this year. Time for them to have a spell and really fight for their spot in the 22.
We don't need to cover Milney's spot as we have both Millera and Saad already in the team. So why not bring in some more run and grunt for the midfield.
I will give Gram 1 more game if I see him shirk one more head over the ball contest he is out.

also cos they are old. why did the blues rest judd today?
but seriously. what are we trying to achieve this year? Sneak into 8th and get pole axed in week 1 of the finals? Scramble for 9th?
The occassional rest for veterans like milney and blake wont really cost us much wil it... On the upside if we can sneak a few more games into some kids it will give us something to take from the year.

Anyone who thinks Blake should be rested is a little soft in the head, considering Fish AND Ben are both out.Buckets wrote:Can't rest Blake IMO especially with Fisher out.
Blake is a defender who can ruck.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

That's why I said that Blake shouldn't be rested!saintspremiers wrote:Anyone who thinks Blake should be rested is a little soft in the head, considering Fish AND Ben are both out.Buckets wrote:Can't rest Blake IMO especially with Fisher out.

Really no one should be rested from the game. 1 player is out due to injury and anyone else that isn't named is because they will have been dropped. That is why the following may have their heads on the chopping block (from a snr stand point)
- Milne (just seems a bit out of touch, send him back to Sandy to try and regain a bit of form)
- Gram (still shirks the hard contest of putting the head over the ball)
- Montagna (first 3 quarters when the game was up for grabs he was too quiet)
- Jones (disposal hurting us at present)
Not saying that there isn't anyone else that could be dropped but looking at our most senior players they would be the first 4 that I would look at.
Blake left out because of our need of players who can play in the back half and ruck also. Polo I have felt has had serviceable games the past 2 weeks.
Saad and Siposs to get another crack at it next week.
Milera and Simpkin nearly worked their way into the 22 permanently.

Re: Changes for next Monday
Fisher out, I reckon Newnes will come in for him.
Polo tinkering on being dropped as seen by him being left out of the original 22 for the Hawks game. Did he do enough to retain his Spot? Unsure.
Gram was in our top players and that was in his second game back after injury. He stays and that's a given.
Siposs and Saad should get another crack IMO.
In: Newnes and Wilkes
Out: Fisher and Polo
Ledger in if Armo doesn't come up.

^ Like this, though I'm tossing up between Ross and Ledger at the moment in terms of which one I'd bring in for a run.Old Mate wrote:Fisher out, I reckon Newnes will come in for him.

Re: Changes for next Monday
No Plugger I dont think all 4 should go...However I do believe that they are at more risk at the moment. Perhaps 2 at max but with Fisher out probably only one of the 4 will be dropped.

Siposs showed bugger all but then again so did Newnes and he was given a few games.Con Gorozidis wrote:In: Wilkes Ledger Winmar Ray

Blake and Milne stay otherwise who else will play as a mobile ruck and who else has the ability to kick goals and win matches in the way that Milne does?
Fisher is injured so Wilkes must come in to provide a tall option down back but also the potential to play forward if somehow needed.
Is it time to bring in another youngen? Do we have space?
What about Schneider and Gwilt?
Gwilt could be a straight swap for Fisher and Dean Polo goes out because he is Dean Polo.

Re: Changes for next Monday
I also was not impressed with Saad's effort against Collingwood in the televised VFL game last week. Did not think he deserved a call up for last weekend, sends the wrong message. And he only had three kicks and two hand passes against the Hawks in a full half of footy. You expect a bit more from your sub. The previous week Polo had 11 possessions.
For this week,
Out. Saad, Fisher (inj) probably Armo (inj)
In. Ray. Wilkes. Ross if Cripps injured.
