Re: Delistings at Year End
Everyone supports the team each week, that's a given...saint66au wrote:I know its only opinion etc...but personally I find even speculating about whos gonna get delisted..after ROUND FIVE..is a pretty pointless excerise
lets back ALL the team to show some form for the remaining 18 weeks eh?
On here though, there is no harm in trying to predict who'll be dumped, it's just a footy forum, it has NO bearing on reality....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Delistings at Year End
Clarke is turning 27 this year thats far from young. Has been in the system for 9 years being injury prone and inconsistent. He isn't a ruckman. Peake and Ray don't seem in favour with the coach for this point in time.. Blake would be a obvious one.

Re: Delistings at Year End
there's some soap operah antics going on here
it's not who do we want delisted... nor is everything set in stone. But at the same time, some things are predictable and I don't think there's anything wrong with saying so.
I laugh at how we're allowed to say positive things about the future and identify what kids look great, their roles and shd we sign them up yet if you look at it the other way... well there's something wrong with that. For all we know Terry Milera will be so average for the rest of the seaon that we'll decide he's not a great pick after all and Stanley will slide ito obscurity and Winmar may suddenly become the next Ablett jnr. We don't know any of it so we're discussing what we see... what's wrong with that?
Reminds me of the praise BM got when he said he thought Gilbert looked the good in his 1st preseason and the criticism he copped when he stated he felt Sweeney didn't look like he worked hard enough and pbly wouldn't make it.
Brett Peake may turn it around... but I don't think he will - what's wrong with sharing that observation.
Sometimes you get it right, sometimes you don't as things change

Gosh, a delist thread in what, round 5?
FFS... and no Crocker nor Winmar would be delisted.
The only one would be Blake, and thats probably retirement rather than "delist."

Delist Clarke? Has his form this year been that bad? Poor bloke has'nt even made it to the training track yet.
For mine, if de-listings were to be made now, round 6, Crocker, thats about it.

Reading through these threads it's clear Clarky annoys a few of his fellow posters. Especially when he rushes to Lyon's defence.borderbarry wrote:Delist Clarke? Has his form this year been that bad?
But delist the poor bloke? C'mon

Re: Delistings at Year End
They kept Blake on the list due to backup I would have thought. The fact that he was soundly beaten by Matthew Bate last week sums it up for me...A old pro should not be out-positioned so frequently by a fringe player in a poor side so often.plugger66 wrote:The Redeemer wrote:Geez there is some rubbish on the list though...saint66au wrote:Noones saying that we should stagnate or keep the same old faces every year...my point was that its far too early in the season to be speculating who should be delisted..youre basing it on 5 games maximum..or 2011 form. Silly IMO
Well if they are rubbish after 5 games surely they were rubbish at the end of last year. I am with Saint66au on this. Lets see what happens until at least round 15.
Jones cannot kick and his tagging efforts are becoming less and less. The fact he has been getting so many touches indicated that the opposition do not care if he gets the ball as he is so poor with it and chances are it will be turned over or used poorly anyway.

is Geoffe Cunnigham still playing for Sandy? He has done nothing and I never see him in the best?:)

Re: Delistings at Year End
That's one of the main reasons why he should be delisted. He's been on the list for 9 seasons and is constantly injured.borderbarry wrote:Delist Clarke? Has his form this year been that bad? Poor bloke has'nt even made it to the training track yet.

Re: Delistings at Year End
no idea if you're right on these guys, but there will be more than three players leaving the list at the end of the year. i'd suggest probably six will come off the senior list, one way or the other, with one rookie promoted and five players in (draft picks and possible trading).SMS wrote:Ray

Re: Delistings at Year End
I can see more than one rookie being promoted this year. At this stage, I would be considering Ferguson, Curren, and No.38 for Sandy last week. Kicked 3 goals early, but his name escapes me. (I think I can start hiding my own easter eggs shortly)

Re: Delistings at Year End
If I am reading the newspapers correctly and judging Andrew Demetriou's character accurately our club will soon be delisted and join the New Zealand Rugby Union.
Under those circumstances Sam Gilbert may be our best player.

You are right again Dr Spaceman, you are right again. As far as delistings go, there could be a few surprises this year.

Re: Delistings at Year End
Just watch ed the VFL replay and cant find any reason why Winmar should stay. He Crocker and Shenton have had were very ordinary years to date and would ghave to improve measurably to maintain their position on the lists. Having said that our rookies Fergusson, Dunell and Minchington have shown a bit.
Myke COOK is a goer and reminds me of Andrew Thompson I think he has a bit to offer and would be worthy of another chance.

Will we still discussing delistings should we win tomorrow night?

Probably not...the place will have a whole heap of new stuff to talk about, however, if we get belted the Forum will go nuts and want the whole list delisted..3rd generation saint wrote:Will we still discussing delistings should we win tomorrow night?
