Also, since you're mates with the beveridges, exactly what role is JB playing in recruiting?? He has no influence??
I don't think any said he had final say, but pay a TEAM of recruiters.... Don't they all get a say... Distributive responsibility I believe it's called
Far to easy. By the way not quoting me doesnt mean you dont stalk my posts. The initial comment on Bevo proves it. Far to easy. Maybe others think I stalk your posts but at least I quote. Your arrogance wont let you and you expect people to know what post you are commenting on even if it is 3 pages ago. far to easy.
I honestly don't know what you two would do without each other…
B.T.W. I don't normally correct spelling, but since you are using it 2-3 times per post, you need 2 o's
You wrote far TO easy about 10 times, it's not remotely funny...... And you know what is far TOO easy .... Watching you embarrass yourself, makes my job easier..... Or 'far TO easy'
Since you know John so well, ask him how he feels about his pointless role at STK where he has no influence on recruiting

Didnt say I knew so well. But I think he has a pretty good role in recruiting. Do you actually think he was solely to blame for recruiting Cripps. Obviously you do . No wonder peoploe think you are far TOO easy. Why when you discuss things do you make up what is said than what is actually said? Obviously to help your poor argument. Kingerden debating along with my kindergarden spelling. Far too easy.

So you too think Bevo is solely responsible for recruiting Cripps even though he is part time recruiting person and you to think Rooy moves like a superules player after watching one game on TV when they dont even show players leading for the ball because they usually have close in shots. Well if you think that then i am happy to lose to you as well. Most normal football supporters would think what I said makes sense.
Cripps IMO has a good deal of upside and I hope will be persisted with. Any weaknesses will improve as he gains confidence/experience. He is a hard worker and seems to have great attitude. It's called learning the caper.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

BM and p66 are both just pissing on their toes in this thread.

Question is whether he should be persisted with at AFL or VFL level at the moment. Currently he's taking up a spot of a Ledger or Siposs. I agree with Marto to the extent that I would currently prefer either of them in the 1s ahead of Cripps.

Lenny Hayes - played nearly three seasons before becoming a consistent midfielder
James Gwilt - took four years to become a good player, 5 years to become a very good player
Brendon Goddard - took three full seasons before establishing himself as a consistent, dependable player
Jarryn Geary - just coming good now, after three years in the system
Leigh Montagna - was an unremarkable bit-part player in his first two seasons
David Armitage - I'm still waiting
Sam Gillbert - spent the bulk of his first two seasons in the VFL
It is Jack Newnes first season, and he's been given a responsible role in defense already and has done remarkably well considering his age. Cripps is at the start of his second season, after spending much of his first season injured and unwell. What on earth do people expect?
Seems we need to be reminded of the story about the hare and the tortoise.
I trust the judgement of our coach and hats off to him for playing both these guys. I say keep playing them, and only rest them when their bodies are starting to feel the pinch. They'll both be fine players for us. Cripps just needs to get confidence in beating his opponent. Some guys are naturally tough, while some guys need to work on it (some still are working on it, like Gram). I don't recall Goddard being fearless at 19 and look at him now.
Patience doesn't earn you cool points on internet forums. You've got to trash teenagers, because max points go out to the first person to say a player sucks.

But then they go else where and are good and we can say they lacked moral fibre because they didn't stay. Cripps will be a player, Jack Steven was around along time before he started to show what he's capable of. Last year was Cripps first on an AFL list and was pretty good considering. He hasn't made a quantum leap yet but I still like what he brings as a sub.
I'd rather a great long term player than a burst out of the blocks like Rich from Brissie that fails to take the next step.
Patience is all well and good and I'm all for it when required, but it's also true that Cripps is not the only young one on our list who is talented and will benefit from us giving him game time and being patient.

That's not going to net you many cool points. You need to rip the club for not doing enough to keep them. Think of a player we recruited or one/s we kept instead. Rip the club. At all opportunities rip the club, particularly on the subject of recruiting. The recruiters' inability to select with perfect accuracy is costing us flags every single year.

Are people forgetting that Cripps is probably a 50-60 pick considering the concessions in the draft he was picked up in?
Considering the zone selections and the ability to select the best 17 year old (or something close) we have essentially picked up what could be a really decent player for roughly the sam pick as Sam Fisher.
But then again he could become a below-average 20 gamer that is delisted after a few seasons due to not coming on.

cripps had 72 sc points and 6 tackles tonight.
not setting the world on fire. but coming along fine for a 19yo. saw him put his head over it plenty of times and laid some hard tackles. really not sure why there is so much angst towards him.
last year everyone screams for him to play, now they scream for him to be out. s*** some people on here are useless. Kid is like 19 without a full season under his belt. give him some time.
