Or we could ease Sippy Downs into the season?Teflon wrote:surely Wilkes has done enough to earn a shot??PJ wrote:Everyone seems to be saying it's a given that Wilkes will come in for Kosi....... is it?
My thoughts would be as follows.
Riewoldt deep forward due to the inexperienced Dee's backline (bar Frawley but he cannot do it all).
Stanley can run around and hopefully use this game to get a bit more confidence and perhaps see how far he can push it.
Sippy to play as a high half forward hopefully kicking effectively into the forward 50.
Suddently with Schneider back soon and Sippy (hopefully) playing our delivery into the forward 50 is not too bad.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Some suggest he's been recruited merely a back up player in case of injury or suspension. Well he's been playing key forward at Sandy and our key forward's just been rubbed out.Teflon wrote:surely Wilkes has done enough to earn a shot??PJ wrote:Everyone seems to be saying it's a given that Wilkes will come in for Kosi....... is it?
So I suppose nothing's certain but you'd have to think that if Wilkes doesn't come in this week, when will he come in?

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Wilkes has stood up most weeks at Sandy to be one of the better fwds currently running round in VFL - he also adds to second efforts...Id actually like to see him in against Hawks.....just hard fitting him and Kosi in....
Sippos not bashing the door dowsn in two's at the moment.....gotta earnit at least.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Kosi stays as has been a good forward option this season. I would love to see him kick a bag though but he seems to bob up and kick 3 goals in a quarter and then nothing for the remainder of the match.Teflon wrote:Wilkes has stood up most weeks at Sandy to be one of the better fwds currently running round in VFL - he also adds to second efforts...Id actually like to see him in against Hawks.....just hard fitting him and Kosi in....

Perhaps a professional decoy? ha!
Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Still would love to see Siposs play some more along side Roo, not just train along side Roo.
I remember last year, a shocker of a game v the Hawks....one of the only highlights was Siposs playing Robin to Roo as Batman.

I dislike hanging onto singular memories of a player yet to mature/players that never really came on but geez his 50 metre lace out pass to Roo was amazing.SainterK wrote:Still would love to see Siposs play some more along side Roo, not just train along side Roo.

Oh and that first quarter where we dominated and found a way to seemingly lay down and from that get flogged.

Wilkes in for Kosi.
Melbourne are soft and should enable Wilkes to do ok. Wilkes could play on Goo the following week??

Getting back to the ludricrous Thomas thing - I reckon if North's appeal fails, then the Roos should just say ' f*** you idiots' and name him in the team anyway!!!
Chris Scott is the type to do this too - its time to stand up against the AFL and their rubbish, and hold a f****** gun to their heads.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
I'd be very disappointed if this wasn't challenged...but not surprised if our toothless admin lets another player get shafted.MRP wrote:Justin Koschitzke, St Kilda, has been charged with a Level two striking offence against Zac Dawson, Fremantle, during the first quarter of the round Four match between St Kilda and Fremantle, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday April 20, 2012.
In summary, due to his previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one game, even with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Fremantle Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and one-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of six matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 187.50 points. He also has 53.13 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 240.63 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 180.47 points and a one-match sanction.
The vision was inconclusive at best...In fact, you can't even tell whether it was a strike or a push. Reducing the conduct category to reckless might be enough to earn a reprimand.
Also, the Lindsay Thomas incident is a joke. Aside from not keeping his feet on the ground, I teach my Auskick kids to turn the body when going for the ball. That's what he has done...He hasn't gone in like Goodes has done twice this season...It will be interesting to see what the tribunal does with this...If he is found not guilty, then the MRP have seriously lost the plot with the rough conduct charges...I thought the Whitecross-Selwood incident was also a joke from the MRP.

Wilkes is s***. He was only drafted because of his previous link to Watters.Teflon wrote:surely Wilkes has done enough to earn a shot??PJ wrote:Everyone seems to be saying it's a given that Wilkes will come in for Kosi....... is it?

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
I'm not averse to the big guy missing a week. He's been throwing himself around like a champ. He'll be sore.
Besides he so whacked him. And I'm quite glad he did. I felt guilty getting the s***s with Zac's pouty charade when he was one of ours. Now I quite enjoy not liking him as a player .
Wilkes in. Koz out.
Ledger in as sub. Cripps out (to get a game in).
Newnes due for a spell?

St Kilda FC @stkildafc
The St Kilda FC has advised the AFL MRP that it will accept the Level 2 one-match sanction against J.Koschitzke for striking in R4

Just saw the vid.
Explain to me the difference between that and the fifty million other niggly bumps that take place every weekend.
McPharlin's illegal spoils were significantly more forceful and dangerous.
Dawson made contact with Milne's head with a raised elbow did he not? Ummm? Looked at?
Rubbish decision.
Horrible week for adjudicators. Just horrible.

We're gonna beat the Dees so it doesn't matter if Kosi is not there. It might be a blessing.Thinline wrote:Just saw the vid.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Why didn't Condom Dawkson get rubbed out for his act of stupidity?
Or is that just expected of him?

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

There is plenty of people with the view he deserves it for stupidity.
I still think those people are watching how Dawson reacts, rather than the contact itself.
Level 2 is ridiculous, I'm not sure why they didn't contest it, as you said earlier a rest would probably have been scheduled sooner or later.
Anyways, I like it when the big guy is fired up, shame the MRP killed the theatre of it all.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
The weather may also play a part in who comes in for Kosi. Rain is forecast for every day in the next 7 or 8 days, so if it's wet we may prefer to go with someone smaller and more agile. Pity for Wilkes that we're not playing at Etihad, although he apparently did well on Sunday in the wet.
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.

Trouble with AFL is unlike soccer there is no penalty for staging/diving.
Did Kozi even touch pinhead?

Riewoldt and Goddard to live up to their reputations ,Clarke and Ray to defy theirs in 2012!
Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Glad Saints didn't challenge. I don't agree with it but seeing the footage there is not much to argue. Can't argue that he didn't touch him and they picked their impact on Dawson's reaction. Unless Dawson came forward and said he played for the free there isn't much else.
The only thing that upsets me about this and I hate to bring up the past but Halls hit on Maguire all those years ago. Clear punch caught on camera, with Maguire down longer than Dawson was. At the end of the day it seems it is whatever is in the best interest of the league. They are probably desperate for Melbourne to put up a fight.

Re: Kosi to miss a couple?
Apart from just seeing how Wilkes goes against the worst team in the comp what would be the point? Checking to see if the back up works.
I'd rather see us bring in Sipposs and see how the forward line functions - what structures they use.
Wilkes is the obvious candidate but I'm not sure for the team's development this will take us anywhere (nothing against the bloke just don't see the upside). Kosi is our best tall forward at present and I can't see him being replaced for the next few years other than a different forward structure.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
