St Kilda supporters who buy AFL memberships so that they can watch other clubs - rather than directing all of their membership spend on St Kilda - are lesser supporters by definition.

I have had it for 20 years and aint getting rid of it so you can be happy. i hope you have an expensive membership type. Anyway i have no idea what you do or have done for the club but i am happy to back what i have done for the club over many people on here including you.

Guarantees the AFL member with club support a Grand Final ticket and a seat to boot if his club makes it...worth it really and Saints still get their whack from this type of membership

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Well it has been a week of champagne silliness but yes, this one is a very strong contender indeed.

My memebersip type - which is expensive - is irrelevant.

People who spend all their membership spend directly with St Kilda are better supporters of St Kilda FC than those who don't. It's obvious.

Is now officially the dumbest thing written on here. Firstly I may spend other money on other saints stuff. How would you know what I spend. I also spend extra on an AFL membership. Should I walk to a game rather than spend money on petrol or trains and then give the money saved to the club. Should I not buy food or drink at a game and again give the money to the club. Seriously never doubt what I have done for the club. Hope you have done a 10th of it. Moronic.

A portion of your disposable income has been allocated to football membership.

I said: People who spend all their membership spend directly with St Kilda are better supporters of St Kilda FC than those who don't.

You have decided to send the major proportion of the disposable income you have allocated to football membership to the governing body rather than directly to St Kilda.

What a load of crap. Maybe you budget like that but I dont. I am also an MCC member. What a disgrace. I also give money to my local footy club. Disgraceful. What happens if you have the highest membership. Should I then donate the $350 the Saints dont get from my AFL memberhip to the club. As I said you have now won the silliest statement of the week. If you keep this up the decade isnt safe.

Have you allocated money to get to the footy and also to buy drinks and food. If you have surely you could walk to the footy and never have food or drink at the footy and donate what you save to the club. of course you would do that.

I'll back my contribution to our club, over 40 consecutive years, against yours any day.

And if you go to the footy in any shape or form you're supporting the AFL and the expansion teams anyway.

But if you want to sit in some lofty position and think you're the one keeping the Saints going, well, knock yourself out

So by spending all of my membership spend directly with St Kilda I'm supporting GWS? Righto.

Perhaps if St Kilda had more independent wealth they could push their own interests the way some other Melbourne clubs do. But while our fans spend their money with the governing body rather than directly with the club then we'll never be in a position to know.

You choose to spend $350 of your AFL membership directly to the AFL rather than paying it to St Kilda. That $350 wasn't going to be spent on hot dogs, tram tickets or hats anyway - so why keep talking about other expenses?

People who spend all of their membership directly to St Kilda are better supporters. Because they support as much as possible.

You now have the decade covered. So if I had the highest membership do you actually think I should donate the $350 to the club. What about the MCC membership? Or my local club. And my point about other money spent going or at the footy is because it isnt a necessary expense so dont spend it and donate to the club which you obviously do. Not.

What about this for an example. A person spends $150 on a saints membership and that is it or another person spends $500 on a Saints membership and an extra $350 on an AFL membership. How the hell is the first member a better supporter. To me they are 100% equal but for some moronic reason you think the first member is a better supporter. Again I will say just moronic.

?????

Am I the only one that still thinks we are a top 4 chance? Nothing is finalised now, we have had only 4 rounds of footy, yet people here seem to have the top 8 all sorted out.

A couple of points:

The thing I noticed is that breaking the press and squeeze used by teams these days requires precise long kicking, along with run & spread...

Consider this: Gwilt, Shnieder, Siposs & Gram will be coming into the team soon. Gwilt, shnieds & siposs are the best distributers of the ball (next to goddard). Imagine how their skills are smarts could significantly improve our forward thrusts? Gram also is a great run & carry player, who also has a booming kick. These players will add a lot to our rebound and offensive weapons.

I think this has been the biggest factor missing from our game so far.

We could have easily have won all 4 games. Were were under prepared for Port (who were fully pumped for this game), played poorly, yet with 10 more seconds could have won the game. We were dominating freo early, but kicked poorly & made some silly mistakes in the last quarter, while they were slotting goals from all over the place...that won't happen very often...

Our young guys are progressing nicely (ledger will also come in), geary & armo have a new lease of life, our senior players have lifted, and the new game plan will refine & get better over time.

Nothing is settled this early...Look at the blues, everyone thought last week they were a top 2 team, yet they looked hopeless against essendon, who struggled against GWS and Port (at home)...

FFS. Is it so hard to understand that people who buy AFL memberships - $500 or so - only contribute about $150 to St Kilda. The rest goes to the AFL to enable & justify them building teams to further deny us opportunities to compete.

It would be better for St Kilda that it's supporters spend all their membership directly with the club.

Your example is stupid. And the subject of that scenario would be a certifiable fool.

I am saying that people should decide to give to St Kilda rather than the AFL. If they support St Kilda.
