Dempster - Ballantyne
Crowley - Dal Santo
I would expect Fisher to go with Pavlich if/when he moves into the midfield for a run around and Fisher has proven he is damn good at following and getting a bit of the ball.
Whoever gets Dawson has to kill him however one would think that if Riewoldt goes for a run up the ground then McPharlin will hang back and wait for the kick into the 50 and rebound.
I am sure that none of our boys will pay attention to Ballantyne. He ever a player received so much attention for his mouth despite being so plainly average? 1.3 goals a game...ooooo...scary.

He's an improving player Balantyne and would get a bit more positive publicity if he was in Melbourne, he can cause damage and maybe an area we don't have covered -small close checking defender. Bakes would have been handy -imagine those two at it. Maybe Newnes will get the close checking role.

Our guys play better under Scott Watters versus how they played last year under Lyon because the current coach has the balance right between attack and defense. Our forward entries this year are producing the results they should because the coach actually has multiple attacking targets and is using the talls, not Milney or other smalls. Our forward crumbers are also working better because they know that they can not be the leading targets.
Dawson's no good so we don't need to worry about him. Ballantyne will try hard...but...he'll be ignored. Chips and Gilbo and Blakey will do a good job down back. After we smash'em, Saints guys will be asking the Freo boys if they're enjoying their team reviews and strategy meetings with Bossco
Would love to see the Saints smash Lyins Shockers however I don't think it will be that easy. Freo are 1st in the comp for least number of entries into their forward 50. Pretty sure Lyin will play the dour defensive game he mastered. Expect to see a 10-12 goal game as he'll flood and press and generally bore the s*** out of us.
play a fast game against them the same way fast teams have defeated Lyon in the past (carlton and essendon in particular) - think we've got the speed and directness to manage it.
key match up for me is Armo smashing Fyfe's shitty shoulder.
Expect plans for the following players.... He will limit the output of good ball users and carriers
Nick Dal.......Crowley will be a hard tag.....he's in for a tough night
Joey.....broughton will run with him... And work off him
Will try and get best players to Goodard and Fisher to expose them defensively and make the accountable.....Fyfe and Pavlich....this will be interesting....Watters may back them head to head.....
McPhee will pay a role on someone..... Perhaps Lenny.
Ross will let Steven, Armitage, Gilbert, Jones go because they are not damaging in his mind... They will get Barlow, Mundy an their other attacking mids go there
McPharlin will go to Roo, Kosi will Get Dawson, their weakness will be Stanley....Silvagni will attempt to play on him...giving away 4 inches
Milne will get a taller opponent.... Is Grover in their team??
Will attack off Milera and armitages opponent of the play small fwd
Watters will want
Blake on their resting Ruckman....Clarke
Simpkin will possibly get Bradley
Gilbert possibly Mayne
Dempster will get Ballantyne or Fyfe or Mayne
Geary to there other small fwd
He ideally would love to free up fisher or Goddard.....won't happen
Marto I reckon you're on the money but equally what did this Lyon style undone previously was speed ball movement - fast break footy that Bombers/Blues have employed against us previously.
Let them flood. Lets keep Milera/Stanley fwd of the ball at every stage.
IF ever there was a time for a 4-5 goal "break out" game for Stanley..............here tis.

Havent seen freo flood this year and apart from the poor sides not many clubs flood now. Brisbane did last week against Freo but it rarely happens. freo wont flood this week IMO.
god ive seen about 6 games where the camera pans back and the commentators speak about how many players are around the ball and you can see no one from the centre square forward to the 50

Based on 3 home and away games against weak opposition?
