I can't help wondering if he seems to be more concerned with surfing, tweeting and crap food than playing football for St Kilda.
I'm livin' in a madhouse

He's probably been told that this will be his last year. Why not enjoy the ride. I would.westy wrote:I can't help wondering if he seems to be more concerned with surfing, tweeting and crap food than playing football for St Kilda.

Not even an emergency this week.
Makes you wonder why he was selected in round 1. A big stuff up by Watters!

It's a shame when any player drops off, I hope he wants a spot so badly he smashes the VFL apart. He was great last year and equally disappointing this one. He has good qualities when up and about and as the kids tire later he will probably be needed.

Although his form improved I thought it was overrated.
Agree with RL assessment after his pathetic GFs. He was only on the list because he was contracted.
Shame we gave him another year.

Re: Brett Peake
Pity he can't smash it up this week. Bye. Too many byes in the vfl fixture. Our blokes need games, not weeks off. Saad gets a 1 week suspension and misses 2 weeks. Siposs pushing for a game misses a week. It's bloody annoying.gringo wrote:fugazi wrote:He was terriffic for us last year when we turned the corner...hopefully gets back to his best...which is good enough!

Re: Brett Peake
Not to mention Winmar being emergency for us last week and missing out on playing for Sandy and now having to play for the Sandy "development squad" this week. Apparently it's got to do with the Foxtel Cup. I think the VFL season has started two weeks earlier than it used to.

Re: Brett Peake
Yeah it's crazy. Think Zebs have 3 genuine byes this year. No split rounds, all byes. Makes it hard if you are pushing for a senior spot.AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:Not to mention Winmar being emergency for us last week and missing out on playing for Sandy and now having to play for the Sandy "development squad" this week. Re: Brett Peake
I always personally felt he was overrated. Cemented his spot in the team in the second half of 2010 and was playing well but really dropped his bundle in 2 of the worst G/F performances of all time.
IMO since then he really hasn't been much chop. People talk about his turn around last season but to me he was very overrated. His performances in his better game were on the minmum side of what is to be expected of a player of his talent and he wasn't consistent enough or damaging enough IMO, to persevere with in a developmental sense.
My feeling is right now, he may be better in the short term than about 20% of the list, but is clearly on a downward spiral with no real prospects of major sustained improvement. Just another of our underperforming core that is not good enough.
IMO should not get another game unless he really really steps up. Ok games in the VFL are not enough for Peake... he needs 30+ damaging possessions and needs to forcibly take his spot ahead of Newnes, Sipposs, Cripps etc I would have cut him.

Think most of the time he is having a lend.

I'm sure a few subway cookies after surfing all morning in between training is fine . Everyone else might be sitting around playing x box in their down time. He turned the game for us a few times last year.

Re: Brett Peake
I liked his goal against Freo at subiaco, that is how he should be playing. Getting the ball from the centre square and sprinting to the 50 and slotting in the goal. Doesn't do it enough though
Re: Brett Peake
i think milera has that role now. peakes big advantage was his tank, he could just run all day at pace. hence his nickname the road runner. i think geary has stepped up and is doing this. cripps/steven are always pretty zippy.Sick Nal Danto wrote:I liked his goal against Freo at subiaco, that is how he should be playing.
