Another goal review. Looking for a hand - but the review showed a post - totally missed by the goal ump.
Clearly off the boot tho.

Suns get one. We need to stop missing and get the scoreboard showing the difference in the game.
We are killing them in contested possessions btw.

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
Ump calls play on on a clear GC mark. The guy didn't want to so the ump changed his mind and gave him the mark?
Could lead to a goal - but kosi rises high to mark deep in defence.
Good period of attack from GC but not able to take that final step. Blake brings it out to Stanley, who is outmuscled.
Bj and dal top possessions getters.
Jones kicks to be. Who finds Gilbert , who launches a lovely kick to Roo. Roo got fouled but ump ignored it and gave a free against Roo for a bit of lip.

What is with the runners wearing orange? Looks like Suns have two extra men out there. Also the umps are being very kind to Demetriou's love child, Gold Coast.

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
Saints playing keeps off with 7 minutes left. Ball covers a few kilometers tol it arrives in milne's arms. He kicks into the fifty, but the ball is contested and ball up results. Another free to kosi totally missed. GC get caught with the ball, but ball up? Umpiring very lenient on the suns.
GC with a shot - handbills it to a team mate who runs into goal to double their tally.

Hayes to newnes to kosi to Roo - nice kicking play, but Roo shies it to the right.

Milera dragged off the ball by his hand - ump hesitates but gives it - shoots and...scores!

49 plays 14.
But we should be a few extra goals up. The suns are playing hard but don't show much nous when in possession.
Geary - well done lad!

Newnes marks on the siren. Only 80 out from goal. Weak as piss - doesn't even bother

Stan Alves just completely baked us over our pathetic backwards backline bulls*** eg: Dal and Brendan should have kicked forward to Rooey ..

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
I get the impression that Stan Alves has been very frustrated in Saints Footy for some time!

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
geeze we've found one in milera!!! all class.
geary wont get dropped if he puts his head over the ball like he has done today. can run all day as well.
roo is more effective the more kozi and stanley step up.
newnes doing ok. simpkin doing ok. blake solid. cj solid.
gilbert still cant kick. maybe he's our FB?

Milera looks great doesnt he.
Our pressure and contested ball was impressive.

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
Impressions?
GC going hard at the man. Will tire and get thumped.
We should have a few more on the board - 3 posters. One goal denied despite no video evidence. But mainly poor kicking to blame.
Newnes looks at home, done some nice things and finds a target.
Milera - two goals but aside from that not much to write home about.
Jones dine, but Ablett getting a lot of contested possies.
Kosi and Roo both lively and should relish a tiring GC unit next half.
Milne missed a couple of sitters.
Bj and dal are bj and dal.
Stanley decent first quarter - quieter in the second but looking fine.
Cripps not getting near enough ball.
Simpkin okay.
Hayes dominating inside.
Big Mac behind on the HO.
Defence all winning. Blake a definite top 22 player.
GC are handballing a lot - mainly under pressure and ineffective.
We are kicking a lot more - way ahead in kicks and marks.
Hoping we steamroll them from here - they should resist for half a quarter then collapse under our pressure - if we keep it up!

Re: Stkilda vs Gold Coast match day thread
Very happy with Stanley... Have been a big critic, but he's seemingly turning the corner... Well done so far...
Love Milera... Once he gets really familiar and confident, will take his game to another level... Has every single tool needed to be a top line gun... Great find...
Need to go on and win big here...

Gears is mental alway put his body in the way he's like a baby bakes. Milers is now my official favourite player and Stanley is getting better. Newnes can play footy and is a natural.
